Anthony Randolph at PF. That would really be an intiguing combo of G's and F's.

Schmitty, I don't know if I'd go that far. Every team in the NBA's Western Conference that qualified for the playoffs this year won 50 or more games. If the Houston Rockets or Memphis Grizzlies were in the Eastern Conference, they would have been playoff teams this past season. Right now, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol and the NBA Champion Lakers look very tough and difficult to beat. The Suns are on the spot tonight in Game 2 or they could get swept.

As for the Celtics/Magic, practically every NBA talking head didn't give the C's a chance in hell of winning a game, let alone the Eastern Conference Finals vs. a Magic team that wasn't really challenged in the first 2 rounds of their playoff run. Besides, remember Rajon Rondo? Rajon's playing outstanding basketball in the NBA's second season, and there are some that seem to think he's one of the league's best point guards.

Actually SHARK, alot of analysts thought the C's would win the series.

That's not what I heard SI's Chris Mannix & ESPN's Jamal Mashburn say...

Kobe with 13 assists and Gasol made Amare his bitch.

Yep and I think Jrue can play. Might be a decent rebuilding starting spot. Something to pull them out of perpetual 33-43 win seasons.

yeah jrue has potential. they need a coach who can coach young players, and develop them. looks like the sixers are talking to collins as coach. collins needs a star...and iggy's not a superstar. i think he's reached his peak. they need someone to take over that team.

evan turner may need a year or two (if the sixers do pick him) i think. i mean it'd be great if he could be like brandon roy and just come right in and be awesome. but i don't know. they have some pretty nice young guards.

it's the front court that worries me most.

Elton Brand

2010/11: $15,959,099
2011/12: $17,059,726
2012/13: $18,160,354

At least Dalembert comes off the books this year, his expiring deal (12mil) should be worth something

Gasol had nothing to do with it. My buddy and I were literally laughing at how terribly Amare played last night. I know Boozer didnt play well against LA but none of his games were nearly as bad as Amare's yesterday. 4 of his 6 rebounds fell into his lap and he still bobbled and almost lost them. He literally disappeared on defense. Gasol, Bynum, and Odom took turns just walking around him on the way to a dunk. That was one of the worst defensive performances I've seen by a "star" in the Conference Finals in a long time. That player last night wasnt worth $5 million/year, and yet he will get 15+/year.

I don't trust either of them. If I were a GM I wouldn't offer either of them a max deal.

I wouldnt eithr but I'd take Boozer in a heartbeat if I had to choose. I actually believe if Amare didnt play last night the Suns might have won that game.

After all of that talking he didn't show up. They got a career game from Dudley and Grant Hill turned back the clock and they still lost. I really loved the way Kobe played last night. He may need to play like that more often to prolong his career and win. His body probably won't allow him to be in attack mode all the time now.

 I really wasnt kidding about that.

Agreed with what you were saying. Nash was terrible. Did he lose his passing talent Space Jam-style last night?

Dudley, Hill, and Richardson were the only guys that played like they gave a shit. Richardson jumped higher and harder for every potential rebound than Amare did even one time.

:?: You watched right? Obviously an exageration but his play, particularly quite a few of his passes, were horrendous. He did have a very nice pass to Hill for a transition dunk, but thats the only one that stands out to me. Pretty terrible night for the "Steve Nash still might be the best PG in the NBA" crowd.

He turned the ball over a few times too many but I didn't think he was Amare bad. I think the length of the Lakers really bothers him.

It does, but why wouldnt he try to adjust? He's great at a variety of things offensively. He's really good at running baseline behind the basket and seeing the court from there. But against the Lakers that doesnt work, you have to play them outside-in. Why didnt a player as smart as him see that and stop getting too deep into the paint/baseline every time when the game was close in the second half?

You're both right, Amare didn't show up at all. i knew after the one sequence where he got rejected then got the ball back and missed a 2nd dunk attempt he was done. Their offense doesn't seem to have any flow to it...when Dudley was on fire Barbosa was jacking up shots left and right with barely 2 seconds gone in the shot clock. i know that's their style but they need to recognize the hot hand. That said, with Hill and Dudley carrying your team you're going to be in trouble. I thought it was funny when Doug colllins mentioned how Nash was playing better with Farmar in the game as opposed to Fisher

I dont know where to put this but I found it pretty funny for whatever reason.

Tim (Columbia, MO)
What are the chances that we get an NBA team here in Missouri in the next 10 years?

David Thorpe (3:02 PM)

Extraordinarily poor. That's the best I can do

Sorry RFDC.

No problem. I don't think Missouri would support an NBA team, so it is for the best.

I have just never really felt there were many NBA fans, or really people that are interested in professional basketball. I have tried to talk to a lot of the sports fans at my work and they all look at me like I am completely crazy for caring about the NBA. They do support the Rams, but really the Rams are third string around here behind the Cardinals and the Blues. I think there is a better chance of KC getting a NHL team at some point than there is a NBA team coming to Missouri.

I don't live in St. Louis any longer. In the last 11 years I have lived in St. Louis, Kansas City, and now I am closer to Springfield. Most of the folks I live by are die hard Cardinal fans, Blues fans, and KC Chiefs fans and for some strange reason professional basketball does not register on their radar.

Moments of silence please for the Kansas City Kings & St. Louis Hawks...Thank you. If they don't care about basketball in K.C., why did they just build a new arena called the Sprint Center? :?
