9 Reasons why Jim McMahon is awesome. All 9 reasons aren't "Jim McMahon is awesome" however I think that could have been just as sufficient.

I bought in to a lot of the McMahon hype back in the day. I thought he was "cool"....but damn that son of bitch just couldn't stay on the field. That really hurt the team. Tomczak just couldn't do it.

Jim McMahon is a miserable guy and a complete asshat.

#10 - He was the subject of the greatest use of my "Dr. Ken's Guy" skills when, prior to his final season at BYU, I told my basketball coach that the Bears were going to draft Jim McMahon and they would win the Super Bowl.

Jim McMahon is also a great example of someone that seems like an awesome, cool dude when you are a kid but then when you get older and meet him and talk to some of the people around him, you find out he's a pretty crappy human being.

The guy is very happy, he just doesn't follow any football and thus 99% of the time people interact with him it's about football, thus no connection. Which also makes me wonder why these people keep asking him about football!

I met him when I was 12 or 13, gave my buddys dad tickets to a game, then he let us hang out with him under the North endzone where the players parked and tailgated after the game. Set me up with a moosehead (Yeah, I was 12 ) even opened it with his teeth for me.

Got me some autographs and even called Rickey Watts a peice a shit and told him to go home.

Then I met him again 5 years ago at my sisters wedding, he was at the Tom Dreeson outing at the Grand Geneva and the guy could not have been nicer. We didnt talk about football at all, talked about his agent, steaks, grilling, drinks.

That's why if I ever meet him, I'm just keeping the subject matter to Seinfeld quotes and pro wrestling rumors.

He was just asked on Mike and Mike how he was able to get through BYU without violating the honor code. His response: "I guess I just knew the girls that kept their mouth shut". Awesome.
