When do we start believing this guy might have turned his career around?

He has 3 things going for him that can lead you to believe he has and often are factors when a guy turns it around.

1. He was very good just a few seasons ago.

2. He has recovered from injuries.

3. New team often means fresh start.

ANYTHING the Cubs got for him would have been an improvement over Bradley.
Dudes, if we only got 6 wins from him this YEAR y'all would have been happy that a) Bradley was gone and b) his replacement WON games rather than lost them. No matter what happens from here out, the Cubs have done well with him.

im extremely happy with what theyve gotten out of silva. especially considering milton bradley has already had a meltdown and left his team for a 2 week span for who knows what reason. what a fucking lunatic that guy is. even if silva finishes with 10 wins ill be just fine with him

They would be foolish not to start exploring trades for him.

Could not agree more .... something about 'striking while the iron is hot' comes to mind.

He's not an attractive trade because a) he's carlos silva and the other GM's are not raving loonie toons like Hendry is and more importantly b) his salary is pretty hard to move, especially when considering point a.

The salary is entirely moot because you're paying that anyway, so remove it from the equation.

If you can get something more valuable for the future than Silva is valuable than now, you make the move regardless.

i agree with this if hes still pitching this well come mid july. no teams out there are looking to give up anything of value for a carlos silva on the last week of may, or even in june. theyll need to wait until july when teams are getting more desperate for pitching and will overvalue him and give up something good in return

Or they can assume this is going to last and sign him to a 5 year deal
