The question going forward is; how is Shingles going to clean up the mess Hendry has created? Is he willing to do what is neccesary and eat some of the bad money?

It does surprise me. I had the Sox figured right before the season started. (terrible hitting) but not the Cubs. They can't seem to put it all together for any kind of streak. Either bad hitting or bad pitching. They also are a slow club.

I would rather have this team just suck and do that the right way, instead of actually have good starting pitching and 6 guys batting over .300!

IF I predicted the SP would have more Quality starts than any team in the NL and Geo, Soriano, Theriot, Fontenot, Byrd and Fuku...and 3 in the top 10 in Avgs! And all this they would lose 6 to the pirates and be 7 below .500!

AND Z goes to the pen........and sucks!

In 2007...the cubs were 22 - 31 at one point in the season and turned it around to win the division. IT COULD HAPPEN again this year but...

God Damn optimism.

Team still has obvious flaws and albatross-like contracts to deal with.
