Think one of the teams will actually hoist the BP Cup especially with all the "good press" BP has been getting lately? I wouldn't accept nor touch that thing, other than it being a stupid, sophmoric marketing ploy by BP. I still can't believe that both teams agreed to this. Keep the rivalry trophies in college. If I were BP; I would take the cup and go hide under a rock until the mess in the Gulf is cleaned up.

It wasn't BP - it was the brain child of Wally Hayward new CMO of the Cubs and self professed sports marketing genius - the same guy who gave you the Toyota sign. More of this type of activity to come -

I'm sure he has already reached out to the Cardinals and Brewers for another trophy for each series. Hopefully, their response was the sound of the dial tone.
