Good point, Keyser. I would like to have heard at least some commentary on him. Are GMs allowed to talk about potential draft picks?

They lost me last week by not knowing who Zoilo Versalles was. Maybe they should get Swieca out of retirement.

I think you got the wrong show, Joe. Wasn't that Mac's show?
I would be surprised of Roz did not know who Zoilo was.

It was Meatpants who didn't know. I think on H&R last week.

I am pretty certain I heard the segment on Mac and Meat where they were looking for historical comparisons for Castro. Someone texted in Zoilo and neither had heard of him.

However, I could be mistaken. So, I am going to treat you like I do my wife in these situations. If I am not sure, I am not going to argue.
Perhaps, someone else can clear this up.
One thing I can absolutely say, without a doubt, Seacrest is not Rozner.

You could be right. I'm not going to argue either. Maybe it was on Mac's show.

Yes, they are allowed. I've read some quotes Rizzo has made about Harper but that doesn't mean they can't ask him to elaborate on those thoughts. I'm not expecting him to say 'we're definitely taking him' or 'we're not touching that guy with a 10 ft pole' but he can share some insights on Harper and a couple other top prospects like Drew Pomeranz, Jameson Taillon or Minooka High Schooler Mike Foltynewicz. I was excited about this show but they have disappointed me week in and week out.

Funny, I just flipped on The Score to be greeted by the always-creepy sounding Rozner teamed along with Matt Spieg.......wait, no, forgot. I forgot that this is a show up whenever you want gig for meatpants. Not there. Again.

Don't get me wrong, any time you can keep him away from a mic I think it's a good thing - but, wow, he can't be there much more than half the time, right? A once per week show that he DID fight to get - and he can't make it.

What's the reason this time? Late night playing covers? Going to the Hawks game, so no possible way he could go in and talk about his "true love" baseball BEFORE doing that?

A big part of radio is consistency - I'm just not sure how they plan on attracting a weekly audience to their "great" baseball show if one of the hosts doesn't really care about coming in on a regular basis.

For the record, it's Mark Grote (sp?) sitting in. Luckily, he also enables Rozner's creepy vibe as when I flipped it on he launched Rozner into a hilarious bit about how he's helped more than one guy with his "mic"!!!!

I think the big guy has bitten off more than he can chew. Is this the 3rd show he's missed already?? Yeah, that Grote (??) guy was fucking TERRIBLE! That was the first and hopefully last time I heard him on the score. It's a baseball show, can't they find someone that will at least TRY to be impartial?? This show just continues to disappoint.

had a chance to listen to this show yesterday for the first time in a long time. Bad! I used to like the George & Jessie version of this show.

I flipped on the WSCR stream a bit ago, and caught the end of The Danny Mac Show-->transition. Sounded like meatpants may have missed his weekly baseball show because of playing a gig. No, not his tribute band but a band with his brother....playing a prom. In Deerfield.

Yes, your midday host at the nation's 3-4th largest media market's "sports powerhouse" is playing proms on the weekend - that prevent him from hosting "his" baseball show. Playing a prom. He was the bad band at some high school's prom.

Anyway, I agree that as goofy and frustrating as the goofballs Offman and Rogers were - they cranked out a decent, and CONSISTENT, weekly baseball show.

You can say "Why are you listening"

But there is no dressing that up.
That is pathetic

Agreed. I think it's also kind of ridiculous that Meatpants needs a day off after playing a gig. Is he drinking too much spiked punch at the prom to come in the next morning and host a baseball show? The man just needs to nut up. I think everyone shows up to work the next day after not getting a full night's sleep every once in awhile.

I just think it's absurd, and while I'll never quite get to John Kirk levels of hating on Mitch Rosen - you really have to wonder why that guy has that job. Is he really managing anyone? How do you let the guy you LET host the baseball show miss it..continually?

It's fine if you want to call me a hater. I've already "fired" The Danny Mac Show - and McNeil's super lame partner is a big factor in making it unlistenable for me. I just don't know, other than McNeil thinking he is some sort of "star maker", why he would choose meatpants. The annoying laugh, the constant cover band stuff, and the horrible interviewing instincts.

The station has created a "staple" show - Hit & Run. And, again, I'm not saying that the hosts over the years have been great - but they showed up, each week, and helped it become a comfortable listen every week. With all of the changes at the station in the past couple of years, it actually sounded like the PD was interested in locking in two hosts. Rozner is awful in his own way, too, but I think it's just embarassing that they're continually letting one of the hosts show up when he doesn't have a conflicting cover bang gig or PROM TO PLAY.

AGAIN, A PROM. He was playing a prom. Big Chief MacHawk's golden, chosen one was busy playing a prom in the suburbs...too busy, I guess, to stop in and tend to his baseball show (after all, baseball is his strength, right?) Oh, wait, his strength is spouting off meatball hitting ideas to a struggling second year player. My bad.

Really, Spmack? You of all people saying something like this. Oh, let me guess, it's Ok cuz you have Jewish friends. It's stuff like this that makes me hate message boards.

I dont "hate" Rosen...but he certainly won't ever be mistaken for one of the great leaders of Men or a good Manager. Everything else in your post is spot on & I agree with 100%.

ZZ and Schuster today. Nice interview with Jim Hendry, complete with Hendry calling Schuster Steve. Perhaps Hendry thought occasional host Steve Spiegel was hosting.

Yet another cover band hangover. Does he even have 50 percent attendance for his own show?

Either CBS is heavy on the days off policy (Vacation, Sick, Half, etc) or Spiegs is closed to maxed out on innings pitched.

The Hendry interview wasn't awful. Steve and ZZ did an okay job on that, I guess.
