12-1 win today, big fucking deal. A Monday morning press conference would be music to my ears. Fire these country cocksuckers....get anybody in here to GM & manage. Afterwards let the wholesale changes begin. This team needs a major overhaul & quick. I would like to see Marlon Byrd remain from the veteran starters, everyone else must be traded or cut. Soriano, should have been released the day new ownership took over. His contract should have been part of the process before buying the team. Subtracting his contract from the price of the sale. I said this before the team was bought. I'm just so sick of the losing, poor play, poor baserunning, mental errors, whatever. Bring in Bob Brenly to GM or manage .RICKETTS,DO SOMETHING,PLEASE!!!

Rickett's basically went broke buying the Cubs & now he has no fucking idea who he should talk to or what he should do to fix the situation. He spends his time focusing on the pissers & the food at Wrigley & signage, while the organization & team is in shambles. This is not a good start for the Ricketts Family. Someone needs to show some leadership & fire these clowns.

How do you know he has 'no fucking idea who he should talk to or what to do to fix the situation" Just based off of a perceived lack of fire and passion from Lou/Management? The fact that he didn't fire everyone on Day 1 of his ownership when this is still a team with enough talent to win the division? He's a very smart businessman, who is taking time to evaluate the organization on all levels before making a decision. There is a reason that a person like him is the owner of the Cubs and cretins like us just talk about it on a message board. He's a smart guy, give him time.

Also, maybe he's been taking the year looking for his new GM? If you read about Ricketts, he's a big numbers guy. I'm hoping he wants a new school style GM like Cashman, Epstein, or Beane. I'll judge Ricketts by the moves he makes this offseason. You really can't hire a GM during the season.

Damn, I wish Tom Ricketts would come on this board and give these WHINERS like Jimmy Pasta and Scorehead a personal "FUCK YOU and the horses you rode in on".
The Tribune Compnay in all its various existences ripped these people off for a quarter century and Ricketts is now THE BAD GUY.

Please put the kool aide down & step away from the bar. So far it appears to me that Rickett's has no fucking clue. We don't know that Rickett's is a smart businessman, We do know that his Father was a smart business Man & that Tom is a member of the lucky sperm club. All we can do is judge Rickett's on his actions. So far his priorities are in the wrong place. It would be nice if he would come out from hiding & address the media & fans regarding his team. Is there anyone in Chicago who actually thinks that Hendry, Lou & Rothschild should be brought back???

Last I looked, all the Steinbrenners were in the LUCKY SPERM CLUB.

Dan already made a good case and you completely dismissed it. You are not interested in hearing anything other than your meatball logic. I have no doubt Ricketts is 100x smarter about all of this than you ever would be.

So you are comparing Tom Rickett's to George Steinbrenner? Wow...

George would have fired the 3 stooges by now.

Kool Aide? I'm delusional because I said he's a very smart businessman and that he's clearly taking a year to evaluate all of the workings of the organization? So far we've been given NO indication that he wants to bring back anyone next year. It's really easy to jump to conclusions, but you can look like an idiot when they are based off of nothing but gut reactions and a perception of him somehow having no clue what he's doing.

Step away from the Cubs slowly. Come back in January and see what Rickett's has done and then we can have this talk. If the season stays along the same course and there are not changes next year I'll be leading the hate charge against Ricketts

That's a cop out, not an answer. Tell me why you think Hendry. Lou & Rothschild shouldn't be fired immediatly.

He had almost 2 years leading up to the sale of the team to not only evaluate who was there, but also to line up the people he may want to run the organization. I remember hearing he had several long discussions with Ned Colletti from the Dodgers...and there was speculation that he might be coming as the new President of the team. Instead we are stuck with Crane Kenney leading this fucking team? Hendry has warts all over his resume & on this current roster. I'll admit that leading up to the sale, the Cubs were a winning team....BUT...BUT...BUT they were also selling their souls to the devil and trying to buy a championship...per McDonough's direction. Hendry was handing out bad contracts like candy. Now we are stuck with this shit.

Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys and brought Jimmy Johnson with him. He had a plan going in. Why didn't Rickett's? Evaluate my ass.

Thank you for at least articulating a argument other than running around screaming like Scorehead.

Comparing him to Steinbrenner and Jerry Jones which is silly. Those are two of the most aggressive, outward and perhaps over zealous owners in all of sports. If you expected Ricketts to come in and emulate the style of either of those two men then you set yourself up for disappointment.

Plus, the Cubs were successful over the past few years under the leadership of Hendry and Lou. Coming into this season, looking at our roster it was perfectly reasonable to expect this team to compete for the division or at the very least a wild card.

You can absolutely make plenty of valid arguments that Lou has lost his mind this season which some of the lineup/personnel decisions he's made. Firing Hendry will do little to no good. If Rickett's is going to fire Hendry at the end of this season I'm sure he'll be monitoring any of Hendry's trade/moves coming up.

It's really easy to be frustrated with this team. But the initial reaction of fire everyone burn the place down etc is equally frustrating and ultimately pointless

I remember when WEIRDO Tom Monaghan of Domino's Pizza wealth bought the Detroit Tigers and made BO SCHEMBECHLER the President or General Manager of the team!!!
Ricketts should follow this line of thinking and hire MIKE DITKA to replace Crane Kenny to show Jimmy Pasta and Scorehead the FIRE AND PASSION they so richly deserve.

I still think lou will either step down or absolve himself entirely of caring what happens on the field(at some point in time this season). That aside, its highly likely that all of them will be gone after this year and firing them now vs not bringing them back really gets you no where. It costs more money to ax them and hire scabs for the rest of the season than it does to let them ride out the suckfest. There is also no chance in hell you are going to be able to successfully retool the entire hierarchy of baseball operations and the coaching staff in the middle of the season. The good ones that you want already have jobs right now. So basically the only change you may see during the year is lou stepping down with trammell taking over for the duration of the season but not a second longer.

I have met Mr. Rickett's and I like him. I do wish he was more agressive. What scares me about him is that he seems like he could be loyal to a fault. I heard him in an interview and he said as an owner now...one of the toughest things for him to do would be to let a player go because...."you get close to these guys"..."you get to know their families". I understand that...but this is a business.

it makes no difference to fire hendry and lou right now or wait until the end of the season as far as the team's success or lack thereof. either way, the ship has sunk. i'd say just keep them and fire them at the end of the year.

firing them now would look like an angry knee-jerk reaction from the owner, which would look amateurish. do the right thing and wait...lou will probably leave anyway. fire hendry. and definitely fire rothschild.

I'm not against firing Lou. If he was fired and Trammel was promoted to interim manager I would not have any major objections.

For Rickett's to have fired Lou prior to this season would have been reckless and it would have reflected really poorly on him personally and professionally.
