If they were going to fire Hendry, they would have done it in the off season. I guess they have confidence in him to move these inflated contracts.

As I said before, Hendry should be shopping Silva hard. It really is a perfect time to move him with a net result of having entirely gotten the bad Bradley contract off the books. It ends up being a brilliant recovery.

No way. Let Ryno season while over the AAA team for a while. Look, it's the players sucking balls. I don't care who manages them, they're still sucky. The team is doomed. Next year, clean slate. No Lee, Ramirez is gonna be gone (via trade before 7/31) I think you look at moving Zambrano too if you can, or maybe cut Koske's brake lines in his hummer too. Why didn't the heck didn't they sell the team to Cuban? It would've been awesome to see him jump out of the stands, run on the field after a game and get into it with the umps.

As a fan of baseball and Wrigley (but not the Cubs), I am enjoying being able to pick up tickets day of game in the lower rows of the sections 110 through 130 for ~2/3rds face-value (+ stub hub fees anyone seen any stubhub discount codes this season? I haven't seen any all season).

Yeah. Cuban offered 1.2 billion for the Cubs compared to the 900 million Ricketts offer.

I remember getting in a lame txt msg confrontation with either Danny B or Matty. Whoever it was would not even hear me out about Cuban owning the Cubs. Started calling me crazy and shit. The person never presented a viable argument as to why Ricketts was the better choice.

I doubt Cuban would be on safari his inaugural season owning the Cubs. Dude is uber passionate, and I guarantee the players would have loved playing for him. I wonder if the players would be playing dif if they had Cuban, and knew the bank wasnt completely empty. Most of these guys arent gonna see another contract from the Cubs.

In all fairness, that rebuilding operation in 2003 was such a baptism-by-fire that the great Joe McCarthy would've lost over 100 with that bunch. It's difficult to hold that against Trammell, and indeed, Leyland praised Trammell for guiding that core.

Lou's toxicity to this team is getting so high that turning the team over to an interim guy like Trammell would be a small improvement.

At least with Mark Cuban.....things would be moving along more quickly. He would be more inclined to eat bad money now than try to hope for the best, which is what the Ricketts are forced to do. I told some friends when they were so excited about the change in ownership..be careful about what you are getting excited about. Yes, the Ricketts are worth quite a bit, but they also cashed in a ton of their fortune to buy the Cubs. If they were as liquid as Cuban is; you probably wouldn't have the noodle or the Toyota sign. The Cubs are their business and it's going to be awhile and even longer if the team goes into the tank before they spend top dollar on the team. If they really want to do it the Red Sox way, fire Hendry and bring in Theo Epstein.
