I know PTFB is overused - but seriously...

What songs can you not change the station quick enough on when they come on?
When I'm not listening to 670, I mostly listen to WXRT, but I flip to The Drive, Q101 (What the fuck happened?) and 88.9 Milwaukee.
Here's 3 of mine -

Carnival - Natalie Merchant
Rooster - AiC
Anything by Santana or Sublime.

Anything by Aerosmith makes me want to throw babies and punch puppies.

Why xrt or any radio station plays the spin doctors any more is beyond me... that fucking song tops my list...

Boo! You should be listening to 88.9 Chicago.

Just about anything Van Halen makes me want to PTFB, except for maybe "Hot For Teacher" only because of the drum intro.
David Lee Roth Van Halen is irritating because of the Roth "Ooooaaaaaaa!!!" screams during the songs. Van Hagar is just plain bad. They never even play the "Guy From Exteme Halen" at all anywhere.

Sublime.

Darkside might have to kick you in the Jimmy.

And The Scorpions

I guess my point was that in general - you probably wouldn't be listening to a station that played
BEP or any other "overproduced pop type music" if you don't like that kind of music.

But I hate the fucking Scorpions too.

I feel this way too Jeff, but I like the work of Alex Lifeson too.

Shirtless, the BEP/pop crap happens when some of my friends get in and turn on certain stations. I can deal until some of that crap comes on and I go straight for the buttons from there.

Wow I didn't know there were people out there that hate Aerosmith.
And I do love me some Sublime. They get a little too DJey and sample-ey for me once in a while but I do dig their spin on reggae. It was pretty fresh back in the day.
If you no likey Sublime, where are you with 311?

Slight derivation ... things that used to be listened to that are generally avoided, even if life and limb are imperiled in doing so:

Aerosmith
Boston
Led Zeppelin
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
early-90s east-coast pseduo-rave music (James Brown is Dead, Twilight Zone, Another Night, et al)
YES
(a lot of) Jimmy Buffett
Styx
The Captain & Tenille
The Oak Ridge Boys
Paula Abdul ...shut up...
Bad Company
Dave Matthews Band

(I needed something to do whilst 'pushing mud' ... so I thought of this list)

That's a mighty broad brush there.

Donald, I hope by Led Zeppelin you mean only the few songs that get overplayed and not the whole catalog.

If you are talkin to me, DS - My thoughts on 311 are simple.
I liked "Down" and Don't Stay Home" off that blue record 15 years ago.
I pretty much don't like anything else, there may have been a song of Grassroots that I dug at the time.

I wasn't so fond of the Blue album. I loved Grassroots and I loved Music. I think I bought that transistor album but I can't find it.

Like I said - I'm not a fan, but I liked those 2 songs.

I thought of a few more-

The only popular Toadies song
Hotel California
Lullaby by the Cure - (I love the Cure, I HATE THAT SONG)

LZ is great until Plant starts "singing." They have great music their songs are terrible I can only make it through a few. I'd rather listen to vomiting noises.
