Decades ago Chuck Finley, in baseball, tried selling or maybe tried to trade Joe Rudi and Catfish and the Commish stopped him. For the good of the game. Not should if other trades in other leagues have been vetoed that has been lopsided.

So my question is about the Bulls trade. Kirk and the #17 for a #2. I know all the reasons behind it. Cap money etc. My question is it's lop sided. Imagine any other year a team calling another team saying I'll trade my #1 for your #2 straight up. Or another call same trade but I'll add Hinrich.

And for a future #2 which most of the time I think will be a bench player. So he won't ever make the team. Just my thoughts.

Could you put them into a few cogent sentences next time please?

Don Tiny I approve of your attempt to educate the new posters.....and correcting them......Perhaps they need a good talking to, if you don't mind my saying so. Perhaps a bit more. These new posters, sir, they didn't care for the CSFMB at first. One of them actually created a pack of mults, and tried to tear it down. But I "corrected" them sir. And when the Original Kid Cairo tried to prevent me from doing my duty, I "corrected" him as well.

Have you ever seen any other NBA trade in the last 10 years? They are all lopsided. Keith Van Horn got traded 3 times after he retired.

Do you really think Theo Ratliff had any value when he was mentioned in nearly every trade rumor of the past six years?

I didn't know where to put this but the whole thing is really funny to read. New York is so desperate for Lebron it's laughable.

On a different note, why don't they hold the NBA Draft at a time that doesn't necessitate "Proposed" trades? Even if we all believe they will occur, they may not. So, it's kind of difficult to get interested in a draft where there are 2 notations after a guy's name saying Team A drafted him but he's going to Team C in July.

They'd be doing us and themselves a favor.

I agree but doing that takes the NBA out of the news a couple weeks early. The Finals ended last week and there will still be NBA talk for at least the next 2 weeks.

I'd say it's probably going to last all summer...once the FA dust settles, I'm sure there will be plenty to talk about

I agree if guys like LeBron and Bosh change teams. Stern has to be loving this. I'm sure he wishes he could create this much buzz every season. In some ways it may help the players at the negotiating table.

I learned about grammar before college. Or high school. Or junior high. English majors study literature and composition, not grammar.

I do share your hatred of one-liners (hyphen added for your education). I mean, why be concise when you can toss a bunch of disjointed, unclear fragments together? To your credit you are an unreliable narrator, which makes your prose worthy of David Foster Wallace or Cormac McCarthy. But those assholes were probably English majors.

The "trade" itself is lop-sided, but, due to the rules of the salary cap, the Bulls have strategized to free up as much room as possible in order to compete for free agents. Washington, which had cap room, knows that it will be difficult to make a free agent splash, instead decided to acquire Hinrich and a draft pick for no cost.

Most trades made in the NBA aren't based on the ability of the players involved. It's usually related to a team's salary cap position, and a player's salary or contract structure.

I do wish that the salary cap could be determined prior to the NBA draft so that we don't have trades like the Bulls/Wizards not becoming official until 2 weeks later.

That's the problem as I see it. Can you ever see the White Sox getting Chris Carpenter for nothing because the Cards had to get rid of salary to sign Pujols? I know different sport and different rules, but it seems wrong. Hopefully the Bulls will sign 2 players at max and fill in the rest of the team will above average players.

But other teams who have cleared space won't get any free agents and their teams are going to be CBA like. So is it right for their fans to pay top dollar to see that type of play.

Like watching the draft last night again. Teams are picking kids that are all underclassmen. Paying BIG $$$$ for the unknown. Hell I'd trade my picks too if I had the chance.

Have you watched any NBA draft in the last 15 years? Most of the lottery picks are underclassmen now.

Your team would suck if you were running it.

LOL...good name. Never noticed that before you told me that breaking news. Guess you must be another smart ass here. So tell me o wise one just how many of these high draft picks are starting? Not super stars just starting? How about just in the league? I'll wait for another dumb response.

If only the Kobe and Lebron went to college, then they would have been a thing. Forever untapped potential.

James Johnson will soon be gone. My guess is a future 2nd round pick. That will allow the Bulls to sign 2 full boat guys.

I read somewhere yesterday that Johnson would probably be the other giveaway. You really don't want to trade Taj Gibson, who is the only other option right now besides Deng, who nobody wants.

I still don't think this is enough. I thought the Bulls needed to get to roughly $36 million in order to consider two max contracts?

Johnson only made $1.6 million in 2010.
