Give 'em Hell Bob! This is a dead ass team that needs to be dismantled starting with Hendry and Lou.

You can trade away the whole goddamn team as far as I'm concerned. They all blow.

Brenly is trying to get attention by saying that

even though I agree with him

u wont find any other hometown analyst saying that about their team

now if Harry Caray says it, its different cuz he's funny...but Brenly is trying to be a sports columnist and it just comes out wrong

You might keep some of the kids, Cashner, Colvin, Castro just to see if they become something worthwhile. I might keep Soto... and Marmol. Maybe Dempster. We're getting the best Byrd has to offer, so I wouldn't cry if he were gone after this year. I wouldn't miss Soriano, Fuk, Theriot, Fonts, Lee, Ramirez. I wouldn't really miss Z, or Silva (who I think is like Byrd and is probably having his best year this year). Gorzelanny, Wells... Bleh blah meh.

I agree , I think Cashner is going to be something special along with Castro. I don't get all the Fuk hate , he is a good defensive player along with hitting pretty well this year

I already miss Ramirez. When did he leave the team? I remember him as a consistent hitter w/ power, an rbi machine, and above average defensively. It'd be nice to have that guy back on the team.

I would keep soto, castro, marshal, dempster, marmol, cashner, lily, colvin.....and that is about it.

i would deal lilly as fast as someone made a decent offer for him. not because i dont like him, but because i actually think he has some decent value to a team in the hunt, and is one of the guys you might be able to deal that could really help the team down the road. all of the others i agree with, except maybe marmol. i would deal him too if the deal were sweet enough. what good is a closer on this fucked up team?

I'd get rid of anyone over 30 on the team and everyone in the front office but Tim Wilken.

i woudnt get rid of all the veterans. it is nice to have some veterans around. i think it would be smart to have a guy like dempster around, and byrd sure looks like a guy that goes about his business in the right way and could be a good influence. i agree with your basic idea though, get rid of the old guys who couldnt win and bring in a lot of youth.

I'd take out and shoot everyone over 30.

The one bright spot of this season has been the promising play of the young uns.

Agree on Byrd and Dempster being keepers.

Rest can go be thrown into Lake Michigan and beaten with sticks.

Only problem with old guys who couldn't win. While they didn't win it all these old guys were a combined 50 plus over 500 between 07-09.
