I think I'm on an angry tear tonight. I also apologize if there is a thread for this, but our search function doesn't work.

This Go Cubs Go song has got to fucking go. I can't take it anymore. The worst part is, its probably never going away again from Wrigley Field. God I hate that awful ear stabbing song so much. Its horrible. Its pathetic. It adds to the whole 25-year-old douch baggery guys and girls who walk around like their sophomores in heat who don't know the score of the god damn game.

When did we start playing this song after a Cubs win again? 2004ish? Man, I hate it.

What would you prefer?
Personally I'd play Flying High Again.

You can not play it with a losing record.

Wasn't there a time when we could just cheer and leave the park? Do we have to play crap music after every meaningless win?

They used to play KC & the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight" or Fine Young Cannibal's "Good Thing". It's hard to say whether Go Cubs Go is an upgrade.

I just turned into SHARK.

I suppose there's a good reason why they don't play Jump anymore. No one needs a mass suicide at the Shrine.

This sounds like the rant I went on at my aunt's house one holiday when my little douchebag cousin was running around singing this stupid ass song after a Cubs win. I've said it before, I'll say it again, I hope this song is causing Steve Goodman to burn in the worst part of hell.

they started it in about 2006 or 2007

i cant stand it either...it used to be the theme song on the WGN radio broadcasts back in the 90's...and at that time nobody cared or really knew the song, and I liked it at the time

now its the opposite

Mac & Spiegs need to get to work on a song for the Cubs after they win. I'd rather hear "Hossa", even though it doesn't make any sense at all, than hear that Cheesefest of a song that they play now. :x

Maybe the current marketing guy could come up with some kind of contest for a new song.

Unfortunately this travesty of a tune is engrained in most of the zombified Cub fans that sing along with it afterwards.

 If anything, they should at least discontinue it from being on the broadcast.

If nothing else, they should play Steve Winwood's "I'm Winning" after a win, as long as they can play Beck's "Loser" after a loss.

I think the Douchebag Tourists from Mauston and Grand Rapids don't even know the words to "Go Cubs Go", and it is Tourist Season at The Shrine.....

Steve Goodman wrote 'A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request'.....Hell isn't an option.

Jeff, the song fits in well with the surreal atmosphere at The Shrine....The place is a hybrid between Bourbon Street and Disneyland.

I'm a Cubs fan, and I am proud to say I do not know the words to Go Cubs Go. And it does not have a home on my CPU or iPhone.

It sure was. There was some Sox fan there wearing a '69 Mets shirt and L flag for a cape. Maybe you should change your name to "Insecure Sox Fan Bob".

Ha! Yea, talk about a terrible decision. I saw your youtube video... you seemed to be in standard Aggravated Sox Fan Bob form. Pissed I missed it.

I dont mind the song.

Before "Go Cubs Go" they would play "Get Down Tonight" and basically perpetuate the whole, "What Baseball? Were partying in Wrigleyville" stereotype.

To me the change signified a shift from partying being the thing, to actual winning on the field being the thing.

its still a partying thing. Have you seen the Captain Morgan addition? Don't fool yourself. You are surrounded by partying idiots when you go to Cubs games. I wish I was a Sox fan.

BUNCHA SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!
