So I'll admit it. I had a bad day today. Things have been rough the last couple of weeks. So tonight, all I wanted to do was watch the Cubs game in peace (I realize that even this probably won't give me any joy either). Things are good. Enjoying a 3-1 ball game and then...yes, those two jackasses sing the 7th inning stretch. And what are the first unoriginal words out of Greenie's mouth?

"Alright, We're back and better than ever..."

Really? That's your fucking line? That stupid line you use when you start your show in the mornings (is he still using it? I'd imagine so). That's your fucking catchphrase? Could there be anything MORE unoriginal?

Then of course we get their comedic schtick throughout their 7th inning interview. Also, Greeny astutely points out that the Cubs are undefeated when they sing there (1-0). Can I slap you? You don't even deserve to be punched.

Then, unprovoked mind you, they bring up the Carlos Zambrano situation and they start doing their fucking radio show during the broadcast for almost two minutes without Len or Bob getting in one word. Corporate Len couldn't look anymore uncomfortable during their back and forth on the Z situation.

This is followed by Greenberg taking over the play-by-play duties on a double.

And then of course Golic says "this is just like the show" because Greendouche interrupted someone.

And then more of their schticky talk show crap.

The best part of the whole thing was how fake Bob Brenly smiled and laughed during their god awful schtick. You can totally tell he is faking and just thinking, "My God, when can we get them the hell out of here?"

And then Len, damn you for asking their thoughts on Lebron. No one cares about their thoughts. You might have asked Ron Santo's thoughts on that possibility.

But this hell did end eventually. I would like to say thank you to the Pirates for the pitching change that ended that segment early to get those two the hell out of the booth.

As for Mike and Mike, I hate the fact that the majority of sports talk radio listeners find your shit entertaining and thought provoking. You are the biggest fakes I've ever heard on air. I'd rather listen to the never created "Sean Salisbury and Harry Teinowitz Show" break down the Cubs Sox series than listen to you no talent ass clowns.

Darkside,
I'm still looking forward to our Wrestlemania match when you, Rick and I team up against Mike, Mike, and Liam.

I would be so happy to take part in that event.

If you hear some things, they don't have the majority of listeners in Chicago.

Mike and Mike would probably thank you for this thread, first time anybody done something here since early June, like most of the ESPN radio shows.

I wonder if ESPN knows just how bad their radio product has become.

Why would they care?

Its obviously profitable. These two go on fucking late night shows. Theyre solid B list celebrities.

ESPN probably thanks their lucky stars for Mike and Mike.

Yeah, but they cant take callers cus every 3rd caller starts calling Greeny a burrito. They cant say anything that will hurt the feelings of way too powerful corporate sponsors or damage their chances to land some pointless future interview. They played the rapist apologist angle with Roethlisberger. Greenberg obviously knows nothing about sports, and Golic is limited to football.

Overall they are an extremely boring listen. I havent tortured myself by listening or watching this neutered shitstorm in a good year.

I rarely listen to these two but one of my favorite things is listening to Golic dance around during a steroid conversation. What can he say? Everyone who played pro football from the 70s up to today except for maybe a few kickers has been juiced to the gills. Yeah, that goes for St. Walter too.

And yes Golic is a giant crusty vagina just collecting a paycheck. I think that is how they should introduce him every morning.

Well, there's a whole lot of circumstantial evidence to back it up. I just think pretty much everyone in the NFL from the 70s all the way to today is gassing. I don't think you can play at that top level without doing it.

And I'm not being judgmental either. It is what it is. I don't think these guys are villains. They simply did what they had to do to compete with the best in their time.

What bothers me is that it's my favorite game- baseball- that has had to bear the brunt of the attacks in an era when performance enhancing drugs have been pervasive throughout all sports from horse racing to cycling to football and basketball as well as baseball.

These two idiots are a great example of why ESPN sucks. They are just awful. I don't know who continually thinks that the top 20 sports markets want or need a national sports show on the air. No one likes this crap, expect (possibly) some jerkoffs on the east coast (as they talk plenty of Boston/NY sports).

Screw both of these guys for continuing to hammer a paycheck for doing craptacular radio.

Greeny just asked, "Why can't we just leave Lance Armstrong alone?"

Gonna go out on a limb and say this is the company line.

Totally agree, and I used to choose them over North. How pathetic is that?

i think any talk radio show that doesn't have listeners call in is a total fraud. so you get to sit there and pontificate whatever you want and have the luxury of no one calling you out on it? lame. and it figures that half the shows (if not all?) broadcast from Brisney World share that format.

Yep, this show is still lame. Greenberg is the absolute worst. I can't believe people show up to their 5am remotes. Even their set pissed me off this morning.
