Will Bosh play at the same level he did last year after signing a big deal?

Yes, I think he'll put up his usual numbers.

I'm not so sure. I think that in order for him to truly deserve the max-deal he is probably going to get, he needs to be part of a 1-2 punch. If he goes to Miami, then good for him.

Today's going to be a big day for the Bulls. They are meeting with Chris Bosh today, and I believe that they will also do the same with Carlos Boozer and David Lee, although I can't say for sure that I'm accurate with this. If I'm correct, my guess is that they are going to make a big push to get one of these 3 guys locked up today. Of course, Bosh is option #1, but all indications seem to be that Miami is the big favorite here, and acquiring him is further complicated by having to do a S/T, which wouldn't work for Chicago since they need to have their full slot ready for James. So, unless I'm missing something, they need to convince Bosh to sign outright for the 5 year deal. Again, with Bosh seemginly on a path that will have him landing in Miami, and Amare Stoudemire supposedly (again, I may be following the rumor mill too much) close to signing with the Knicks for a max deal, that leaves David Lee and Carlos Boozer. New Jersey, Phoenix and Minnesota have been linked recently to Lee, and Boozer has mentioned in quite a few places as well, including the possibility of resigning with Utah or as part of a S/T with them.

So, while I expect the Bulls to make a concrete offer to Bosh today, they also have to be realistic about this. I'm sure the Bulls are fully aware of all of the rumors of Bosh landing with Wade/Miami so I could see them pulling this offer if Lee/Boozer want to sign today.

The Bulls believe that they have best team to offer to James in his quest for a championship. Of course, signing Boozer or Lee isn't going to convince James to come to Chicago by itself, but if they can present to James a lineup featuring Rose, Noah, Deng and Boozer/Lee, it only furthers their case that they offer James' best opportunity to win a championship.

We'll see what today brings.

Bulls and other teams are annoyed that Bosh is shooting a documentary of this entire process. Uncle Jerry is allegedly at the top of the list.

For salary cap reasons if the Bulls plan on doing a sign and trade for Bosh it would be better to wait until LeBron is signed. That way they are able to take back 125% of the salary they are giving away. From what I'm reading the Raptors are more interested in a large trade exception and picks than they are taking back players like Deng or Beasley. The Bulls would only have to give away $13.3 in salaries and cash (trade exception) for it to work. They have the flexibility to do that.

any news on a deng deal, that front is very quiet, can't decide if that means they are working on it and being very quiet or not working it at all. I believe if trading Deng does occur then it would get the bulls bosh and lebron, however trading deng is such a long shot. i can't even think of teams that would remotely want him and that contract

Based on the number of horrible deals being handed out there are a lot of teams that would take on Deng's contract. Compared to some of these contracts he has a great deal. A few teams expected to have a shot at Joe Johnson and Gay and now they won't have a chance. Some of those teams have cap room and would take back Deng. I believe the Bulls would need a commitment from Bosh and LeBron before dealing Deng. Even then I believe they would try to find a way not to deal him.
