$42.50 for three hours of open bar (of bud and well drinks) and a bbq buffett? I think it sounds fun but not a major announcement or a great deal for attendees.

I can't think of a possible worse time. Song parodies and Bud Light.

This might be my personal version of Hell.

I agree, and I actually don't mind drinking Bud Light.

Actually, with only 3 hours of bud as the open bar, and $35 to see a cover band, well... it seems a bit too pricey for going to someone else's party. Nevermind. I can spend that $35 elsewhere and drink beer I actually like.

I normally like going to stuff like this but I'm definitely out on this one. First, if you're going to do an all you can drink party I think it needs to be done in the city and at a bar close to public transportation so people don't have to drive. I'm not going to go all the way out there and not really be able to drink because I have to drive back. And I'm sure as hell not paying for a hotel room. I'd also bring someone with me so that hikes my cost to about $85 before tip which you need to do a lot at those open bars or you look like a dick. This is a fine setup for a Friday remote post show type of a thing where the band plays and everyone stays to drink and eat at the same place after. This thing just doesn't work in practice and is way too expensive for watery tap beer and hangover inducing well liquor. I'm sure you're all devastated and will miss me at this one...

the open bar ends before the band starts. Why not just chop $30 off the ticket price and let people use that cash to buy drinks during the show?

Or is this a "Help Matt Spiegel Make His Mortgage and Car Payment" party.

Cuz it appears the booze for the open bar is being donated.

Bad place to have an all you can drink party as someone else said. No public transportation or alternates to driving.Only motels I see nearby I would not set foot in.Closest decent one is over 2 miles away.

no public transportation....except that big silver metra train that is 200 feet away.

it's tempting, but the bud light portion of it sucks hard.

No shit, if you can stumble to the metra station pretty easily, last I heard that is public transportation. Jesus some people would complain about location it it were in their backyards. "Fuck, I gotta put on pants AND open the door to get there?"

Yeah, you could just as easily pool that money together with a few friends, get some good stuff, a hotel room, and have just as good a time...not really seeing what the big fuss is about...

Sounds like a plan. What time should I be there? BTW, the 31st is my birthday. I expect that you'll sing.

So, you get the free BBQ that they serve for free every Friday. So you're paying $42 for Bud Light products that they sell for $2.75. That means you drink 15 or 16 free Bud Lights to breakeven. Oh yeah...and you get the melodious tones of Tributosaurus...

Boy, was I wrong. I thought the major announcement was going to be that after a big 3-day pow-wow of all Mac's most intelligent friends and fans, and the consulting of a lot of outside reference sources, it was decided that Nebraska should go between Minnesota and Northwestern on the Mackeyland Big 10 on-the-floor-alphabetical-order mini-helmet display.

I don't think Mac needs our $42.
I don't get this. Is this a for profit party for themselves or what the hell is this?
Its weird.
Congrats on the 13 months party though guys.

It's not the money but you want the party to be successful...have a lot of people at it or at least tickets sold. Think of it as moral support.

I don't think it's weird. His shows have always had some yearly event.
