Obviously, they need a two guard, and another guard to back up both guard spots. That and maybe a wing that can shoot and they have a solid rotation. They need to get another big guy so they have enough fouls to give against a guy like Dwight Howard.

I don't think they need to use up all of their space right now. They could wait until mid season when a team that is out of it is just looking to dump a contract. Their may be some opportunities to make some very shrewd moves...

Does anyone think they should look at re-signing any of the guys from last year?

The only people I would consider bringing back would be Brad Miller (only if he comes cheap) and Acie Law (When Rose was out last year, he played great, but for some reason Vinny never gave him a chance). Miller can hit the open jumper, and as long as you keep him away from the 3-point line, he can be of some help. Law would be a solid backup on the bench and would be a major upgrade over Jannero Pargo from last year.

Law is a nice backup point guard, he kinda reminds me of a avery johnson- he's pretty quick, can penetrate and passes pretty well but doesn't shoot well so teams sag on him. Agree Miller would be a nice piece if he signed cheap

I'm just worried that these 4th and 5th tier players are going to command massive salaries now and it's going to be tough to get *anyone*

My guess is that if Miller signs a cheap contract, it will be a cheap contract in Miami chasing a ring.

Acie Law? Sure, but I don't want him to be the 3rd guard. He's a fringe rotation guy at best. So, maybe as the 4th guard. I don't think he will be in high demand...

Of the "sharp shooters", it looks like the two big names that are left are Korver and Reddick. I like Reddick because he'll probably be cheaper and can at least chase a guy around a screen on D. Korver DID shoot over 50% on 3s last year, which is crazy.

What kind of deal will Asik get ? 3-4 million ?

He's probably the 4th big man in the mix, and that leaves about 14 million for probably 2 (maybe 3 guys) and then a few slots of minimum contracts. Obviously, one of these slots is for a SG (Korver?), although I prefer him coming off the bench so my hope is that the Bulls don't settle for the available free agents at SG and explore the trad market.

They need to sign a SG (Korver or Reddick) and one other big man to come off the bench. You also have to hope that James Johnson shows improvement this season. This makes for a solid 8-9 man rotation. They are also in need of a backup PG.

Lineup:
Deng
Boozer
Noah
Rose
SG (Korver or Reddick) I think I prefer Korver.

Bench:
Gibson
James Johnson
Backup Center (Brad Miller would be ok here, if it's a good deal)
Minimum Salary Guy
Minimum Salary Guy
Minimum Salary Guy

What about Michael Redd? Goff mentioned him last night, is he someone that could be looked at?

I like that Anthony Morrow kid as well.

I'm not a big fan of Korver.

I hope you are not referring to Flip Murray. I wouldn't even take him at the minimum.

After losing their best perimeter defender in Henirich are there any sort of Defensive specialist types out there who can chase Wade/Lebron around the court coming off the bench for 15 minutes a game?

I think Redd has 1 year left on his deal for something like 15+ million. It's the kind of move that frees up your cap space after the season, but the Bulls wouldn't necessarily have a full slot again next summer because they may start to look at locking up Rose and Noah long-term plus the CBA will expire and that will play itself out as well.

Raja Bell would fit that criteria although I have read he wants to sign with either Miami or Orlando. I think Matt Barnes may also be on the market as well.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, Michael Redd, coming off knee surgeries each of the past two years, is owed $18.3 million in the final year of his contract.

Saying that, he may as well be a free agent because if the Bulls called the Bucks and wanted him, they would give him to us for nothing.

Bucks have moved on with Salmons and Douglas Roberts at SG, Maggette at SF, Gooden at PF around Bogut and Jennings.

I actually don't like him very much. He's sort of an annoying defender and some size, but I'm not a fan of his shot selection.

I've just always been a fan of his since he was in Golden State. Maybe it's kind of a meatbally look at him, but I think he's a good role player.

He always plays tough/Always hustles, he rebounds pretty well for a SG/SF,and he's an adequete defender. I would also refer to him as grindy, which this city loves. If he isn't too expensive and wanted to come here, I would be happy with it. He has publicy said he wants to return to Orlando though.

Barnes only made $1.6 million last year, so he is in line for a raise. If the Bulls could grab him for around $4-$5 million/year I would do it. He is a streaky shooter, so you would still need to go out and pickup a 3-point threat.

I agree with you. He's really versatile, like a DeRosa type. Very grindy. Can play a few different positions, run the floor, doesn't shoot the 3 bad (although I would not look to him for outside shooting), plays decent defense. I would definitely like to have him

I am. And I would take him at the minimum.

What does he give you? He's a chucker who is a bad/lazy defender. I see no positive to having him on the team, even if he plays for the minimum.

Agreed. I'd consider taking him back for the minimum. He's a guy who can put up points once in a while, and we're talking about the 10th or 11th guy on our roster.

They were supposed to pass the torch to him but gave up on him quick. I would prefer a defensive PG. I would like to get Hinrich back now.

He's one of the best defensive guards in the NBA. That will be missed unless Coach T is a miracle worker.

Maybe it will occur to Rose that playing defense is a good idea.

No, he'll probably end up with the Clippers if he can't convince NY/NJ to take him.
