Not sure where you're going with this? What about them? 2007 was the last season LeBron seemed to genuinely kill himself a la Kobe trying to win a title. That's pretty sad considering he's 25. The last two years when the going got rough, LeBron quit. Luckily he's with Wade now so there's a superstar that's all about winning to take over when he tries to quit next June.

not sure where i'm going with the fact that for all the time lebron was in cleveland, the owner did practically nothing to surround him with major talent? there have been free agents out there for years that they never signed; and the "big name" they did sign was totally useless as far as bringing the team closer to a championship.

while i think lebron gave that city light and hope, that team wasn't in good shape. they were the best in the east. LOL. the east. give me a break. that team may have been better than they actually were BECAUSE of lebron's talents. he's a great passer and has a great basketball IQ.

to pin this all on last season's playoffs is just a cop out by an owner just grandstanding because he knows he'll get support from his fans. but the truth is this guy had plenty of time to build a championship team and never did.

The owner did everything LeBron asked. He went as far as letting him pick his players.

Gilbert is a fool.....his impassioned letter is a ruse.....HE SHOULD HAVE WON A DAMNED CHAMPIONSHIP WITH LEBRON......All his bravado is bullshit to try and keep his ticket buyers pissed at LeBron and their checks keep coming to GILBERT.
The player is ALWAYS the immediate asshole when he leaves a City.....then the fans get over the anger and focus on WHAT IS LEFT....Gilbert isn't getting around THAT.

lebron obviously didn't know who to surround himself with. the owner should be listening to people who do.

He mighta left in 2007 if Gilbert didnt let him do that. It's not hard to envision a scenario in which LeBron told the Cavs he must secretly have a huge say in personell matters for him to stay with the team, given what we already know about his ego.

I understand where you're coming from. LeBron did do alot of positive things for that city and for that team. But it is not a copout at all to say he quit in the playoffs because HE DID. That's inexcusable for a superstar. And considering the decision he made with Wade and Bosh, looking back on those last two games in certainly seems like he just wanted out all together and knew what was gonna happen in the summer and just wanted to start his summer then.

I can see why you wouldnt like what Gilbert had to say, but I cant really see how he comes off looking worse than LeBron.
