This guy does try to be a better catcher, but Lou made it clear after the game that play at home should have been made. He mentioned that it was the Phillies catcher trying to score and there was no need to "rush" the play, that is something a smart ballplayer thinks about before the play even happens. Thinking is a big part of playing baseball. Trade Lee for a box of napkins, move Soto to 1st & get another defensive catcher somewhere. That would give the Cubs 2 "no-hit,strong defensive" catchers. I could live with that.

It was a physical error, not mental, cant get on a player after a physical error. Pretty clueless to criticize Soto for not making that play, albeit one he should have made. Marmol should be the one getting ripped, not Soto. Obviously you never played the game or you would realize it's not that easy.

Obviously, you are incorrect. I have played, not at catcher, though. What you said is true about a physical error,I agree BUT it is a play a ML catcher should make 9 times out of 10. I'm just sick of all this Cubs losing, watched it too long for too many years.

You are the most predictable poster ever. I saw you had a response to this thread and thought, "I bet he mentions Micah Hoffpauir". I clicked on it, and yep I was right.

Shouldn't you be telling us all about how the Cubs gave up on Hee Sop Choi too early?

Come on now, he was in the Home Run Derby! Clearly traded him too soon
