I would say a large majority of the time, I've agreed with the winner of the award - love to know what he's thinking about when he's voting.

BTW, this converation came up in talking about Joe Cowley's vote of Derek Jeter 6th in the MVP vote - Jeter, IMO, shouldn't have won, but Cowley's arguement on the NY radio was pretty bad - that he only votes for teams in contention, and numbers are a secondary concern.

He was defending why he voted Ortiz ahead of Jeter, but wouldn't admit that the Red Sox was out of contention in mid-August, when they fell to 8.5 games back in the division.

Who did he vote for last year? Wasn't that the most unanimous vote ever?

What about the year Ricky Williams won it. Did he vote for Cade McNown?
