Well-sized for a PG, but not a pure PG. A scoring point that can ballhandle but is not a natural distributor. Can shoot well from 3, and has a good off the dribble pull up off a screen. Is not frightened to take it inside, can and will finish in traffic surprisingly well. His 3's almost all come off spot-ups, he's not big into launching 3's off the dribble- out of his range. Is a decent, not great spot-up shooter. Definitely one of the more athletic backup PGs in the league, but not particularly explosive. Quick, fairly strong. Not a chucker, even in GS system, will pick spots fairly carefully. He's spent very little time as the only ballhandler on the floor, by virtue of GS's system loving to overload forward spots with ballhandlers. His ballhandling is adequate but not above average. No advanced dribble repertoire. Makes simple passes, mostly to perimeter shooters. Not turnover prone, but has not had enough responsibility to prove it a trend. Would be best to play him with one of Rose or Brewer at all times, unless he really impresses in practice.

Defense: It's all crap in GS anyway. Will do anything for a steal. Is fast enough and savvy enough to get some, but really sacrifices position for it. If he's not overplaying the lanes, he's not playing much D. Will go under screens too much. Doesn't foul too much, because he does not contest all that hard. A lot of these are bad habits that have to be broken, but he's athletic and savvy enough not to be a liability on D if the team stresses it.

Cheap deal too ...

Yeah I like the deal too. The money is nothing...and I'd much rather have him than an Earl Watson or Earl Boykins type. He can actually shoot. I'm quite pleased with these minor moves. I'd almost rather have Brewer than Reddick (although I'd probably rather have Reddick than Korver)...I think they're picking up solid guys at reasonable prices that should be able to fit into Thibodeaux's system. I like their depth right now, just need to find a backup big guy but that's likely going to be a piece of shit anyway from what's left to pick from.

I liked Watson a couple of years ago. He will be a good back-up for Rose. What's next?

The only other thing they still need to do is sign a back center. They got about 4.5-5 million left under the cap. Im thinking it's going to be Kurt Thomas. Im intrigued with the idea of bringing in Shaq, but I don't think Shaq would accept a backup role.

I'm not sure they're going to spend a lot to get another Big like Shaq. They really like Omer Asik who they brought over from Turkey. I think they find a cheap, big body and call it a day - somebody who can give you 6 fouls when you need it.

I've never seen him play (beyond Youtube highlights) but he seems like a Euro Joakim Noah. Good shot blocker, runs the floor well, will score on garbage - not much of a refined post game. Doesn't quite have Noah's high energy and killer instinct, however.

I cant believe I forgot about this before, but how about bringing in Brian Scalabrine? He can knock down the 3 and could split minutes with Asik at Center. And he would likely take somewhere near the minimum. I say do it.
