That's the new 5 a.m. show. Goodbye Jan Jeffcoat, you are the tannest anchor on TV!
Mini, that's not quite accurate. Anna Davlantes & Corey McPherrin are taking over the
FINAL 3 hours of "Good Day Chicago" starting August 2nd on FOX32. Anna & Corey will be on from 7-10a Monday-Friday, while the team of Kori Chambers & Dawn Hasbrouck take over the first 2 hours of "GDC" from 5-7a. But wait, there's more...
For the record, Jan Jeffcoat's
not leaving FOX32. Jan has been reassigned to the 12Noon newscast, while Dawn, who joined WFLD from Boston last February, moves to early mornings next month. Jan & Dawn have flipflopped shifts at the FOX-owned station. The person who's leaving is actually Jeffcoat's co-anchor, David Novarro. He'll be leaving Chicago to take a similar job at WNYW, the FOX-owned outlet as new co-anchor on their morning show, "Good Day New York". Got all that?
Anyway, with Corey hoping to follow in the footsteps of the recently retired Warner Saunders, Bill Weir, Mike Barz & the late, great Tim Weigel
(Moment of silence please for Tim...Thank you.) making the transition from sports to hard news, FOX32 has temporarily moved Jill Carlson up the station's depth chart. Jill will take over weeknight sportscasting duties on the station's revamped 9p newscast with Bob Sirott & the ageless Robin Robinson.
It's unclear if morning sports anchor Lou Canellis will assume some of the weekend workload with Carlson taking over the #1 sportscasting job at FOX Chicago or if FOX bosses might borrow the likes of Comcast SportsNet's Chris Boden and/or David Kaplan temporarily. Canellis will be very busy himself pretty soon with his Bears' duties next month. Lou will be on the sidelines while Sam Rosen & Erik Kramer provide the descriptions for the 4 Bears-produced preseason games that will air on FOX and the Chicago Bears Network starting with the game in San Diego August 14th. Lou will be joined again this football season by the voices of the WBBM Newsradio 780/Chicago Bears' Radio Network, Jeff Joniak & Tom Thayer, for another season of "Bears' GameDay/GameNight Live". The
OFFICIAL Bears' pre & postgame shows return to FOX starting September 12th.
