in his prime iverson was amazing on the court. he literally threw himself all over the place. he was a great player and he was surrounded by garbage most of his time in philly.

what he did afterward, he fell off the map. but i knew the way he played, he wasn't going to be a guy to last all that long...his skills were going to diminish fast.

I am on record here as saying Iverson was the toughest little bastard to play any professional sport I have ever seen. He was fearless and got the shit beat out of him on a nightly basis.

If Lebron had half of his guts he would have already won three titles by now.

I have to say that Barkley is one of the best power forwards if only for the fact that he wasn't very tall. Titles are less of an issue in his era because the Suns and the Jazz were solid Western Conference teams in the 90s, but the Bulls won 6 titles in that decade. So because of Michael Jordan those other teams weren't going to get any rings, but you can't say there weren't good teams.

LeBron's decision to bolt from Cleveland was as much as indictment on the team as it was on LeBron. He was the best player on the floor for the Cavs, but he didn't come to play every game. The great champions like Jordan, Magic and Bird all willed their teams to victory. Each one of those guys could carry their team to victory, but LeBron doesn't have that "killer" mentality despite being more physically talented than all of them.

I want to see the Miami Heat fail miserably. I want to see them knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the Bulls if possible.

I do concur that Iverson in his prime was better than anyone his size to ever play the game and unlike pro wrestling it does really hurt when they foul you.

I don't know man. I loved Iverson too but I'm not ready to say he was better than Isiah. But then again, Isiah did play on far better teams than Iverson did, so you have a good point as well.

Because at 6'4" (ish), playing power forward, he averaged 22.1ppg and 11.7rpg for his career. Also shot 54% from the field just for shits and giggles. It's a shame he couldnt have gone to the Rockets a year or two earlier. That's why I sorta think it's bullshit Chuckles is calling LBJ out. He went to a squad that had Hakeem, Drexler, and eventually Pip. Who you crapping Charles Barkley?

According to Wikipedia, Iverson was 6'0" and 165 lbs. and Thomas was 6'1" and 180 lbs. If Iverson was really 6'0" that's a little generous and physically he was more frail than Thomas. Iverson beat the Lakers in Game 1 of the Finals with a 76ers team that had no one. The problem of course was that no one could match up with Shaq at that time.

Iverson's biggest problem was just that he took too many shots even when he wasn't on. He was basically an undersized 2-guard, whereas Thomas was a point guard.
