 Post subject: Notre Dame TV Question

With Pat Haden going to take over as USC AD, NBC needs a new t.v. commentator for Notre Dame football.

There are some names being bandied about, Jerome Bettis, Joe Theisman, Mike Golic, Chris Spielman, Bob Davie, and some others.

I can't see Davie coming back to Notre Dame, Golic is ESPN along with Spielman and so their probably out. I could see it being Bettis, don't know how much expierence he has doing it, so my pick would be Theisman.

I think Joe Theismann got a bit of a raw deal when ESPN supplanted ABC Sports as the new home of "Monday Night Football". He'd be pretty good if NBC Sports went in that direction, even if the Irish aren't...

Mike Mayock, I believe, went to Boston College, Aggravated. I thought Joe Theismann, a Notre Dame graduate, would've been more ideal. After all, it's "Notre Dame Football" on NBC...

When I heard this on Boers and Bernstein, I guess NBC didn't want a Notre Dame guy doing the job, and yes Shark you are right in the Mayock went to Boston College.

Bump, I listened to most of the Notre Dame-Purdue game and I thought Mayock did pretty good, basically telling you what kinda of defense the teams were in like umbrella or blitz mode.
