Fan in LeBron's Heat jersey draws ire in Cleveland
Associated Press
CLEVELAND -- A fan wearing a Miami Heat jersey of LeBron James drew the ire of the crowd at a Cleveland Indians game and was escorted out of the ballpark.

Fans in the left-field bleachers chanted obscenities and pointed at the man Wednesday night during the sixth inning of the game between the Indians and New York Yankees. Hundreds of fans joined in before security led the man out of Progressive Field.

As he left, some fans followed him toward the gate with more derisive chants.

James' recent departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Heat caused a lot of anger in the city.

Many fans were near the left-field foul pole in hopes of catching the 600th home run ball by Alex Rodriguez.

Yes, this is America.

The fan in the Heat jersey obviously did this knowing what was going to happen and was being an attention whore. That is 100% American right there.

Well, you know the guy wore it just to cause a scene so he's a DB. Plus, the city of Cleveland is barely ahead of Detroit as one of the most genuine hell holes in this country so not surprising on that end either

I'm surprised there were enough people at the game to even care

It's pretty clear that the guy was just trying to be an asshole. You can see in the picture that he's holding it up and taunting the crowd. http://deadspin.com/5599431/sir-you-cannot-wear-that-lebron-jersey-in-cleveland-unless-you-go-through-the-proper-editorial-process

No one did anything physically to him so I have no problem with what the fans did.

Let's not make this guy a victim. He was looking for a reaction.

You have a point. Some sort of animal tranq is probably involved.

If I wasn't from here, I would be scared that this guy was supposed to represent America...

jimmy, you could do well to have some perspective.

was it not 2 years ago that some pittsburgh steelers fan teacher taunted a kid wearing a denver broncos jersey in his own classroom?

isn't this the same country that steve bartman had to not only leave the city of chicago but alter his damn face because he was afraid for his life?

maybe it's not the world that's getting crazier--you just need to pay attention to it a little more.
