Anyone hear this tonite? Zack with Cutler, Olson, and Forte. I give Zack credit for trying but man those 3 came off as arrogant, petulant, wise-asses giving zero insight and the standard cliched answers to everything. Why even agree to the interview if thats how you're going to approach it? Does anyone really care what those guys think anyway? Was horrible radio imho.

Didn't we go through this last year, or the year before with Urlacher, Ogunleye, and some rookie? The two vets giggling and making the new guy answer the questions? That was horrifying radio.

I heard the show on my way home from work and thought the same thing. I thought Forte was OK but Cutler and Olson were complete douche bags. I felt bad for Zach because he was trying to be a professional the whole time but those two ass hats kept making fun of him. Cutler even called him a "ginger." Real classy behavior from "jerk face."

I thought it was interesting that Olson wasn't present for the last segment. Someone behind the scenes probably tried to save Zach.

Olsen is usually a decent interview & a pretty good guy. He sure was different today with his broheim Cutler. Matt Forte should never have a mic in front of him. He has absolutly nothing to say & the personality that makes Jack Benny look like Jim Carry. I think "Ginger" is a nickname the Bears call Zach. It was funny though when Cutler asked Zach if he was employed year round by the Score, then asked him what he did the rest of the year.
I think the real problem is that the Bears players don't respect Zach & think he's a joke. They wouldn't act like douches if Hub was doing the interview. Actually, the Score would be better off having Hampton do this show.

Probably true, but then why even go on the air if you're just going to be an asshole? they think that was even remotely funny or entertaining? they came off just as everyone says they are, arrogant, petulant little frat boys with their own little private club and treating the interviewer like he was an asshole for even asking any questions.

Jay Cutler and Greg Olsen would make great heels in a mid-80s John Cusack film. Maybe Zach could be played by Molly Ringwald.

Were they both channeling their inner William Zabka?

I felt sorry for Zaidman. These guys sounded like drunken frat boys who thought they were too cool for the room.

I know there are some who still defend Cutler's attitude but if you listened to the first 10 minutes of that show and still thought that he is likable and a good leader then you are a blind Bears defender. If you can't even get fans to think you aren't a pain in the ass then how are you going to show leadership in a lockerroom. No wonder Urlacher and Kruetz are still the leaders in the locker room.

It's sad when you see a Drew Brees or Peyton Manning interview and they act like professional QB's and these guys seemed more interested in picking on Zaidman for doing his job(working for the Bears).

As everyone knows, I already hate Jay Cutler, but you can add Greg Olsen to that list.

Updated link.

Here it is. You only really need to listen for the first 5-10 minutes to get the idea.

10 Minutes of a radio show tells you he's not a leader?

There have been questions about that since his time in Denver. Players have even hinted as such in the media.

Im not saying he's a great leader, but I dont think his treatment of Zack Zaidman on a radio show is relevant to that discussion.

Wow, so they were dicks to him not only then but this year as well. Classy. ZZ should have found a way to ask G.Reg if he was still moonlighting as a rapper after his debut at the U.

That's fine if you don't think it's relevant. I couldn't imagine Peyton Manning or Drew Brees behaving like that in an interview.

He did also spend multiple questions blaming bad routes for interceptions and he if we sat down and looked at each one he would "explain" why they happened.

 No.

I googled Bears all-access and it said the first interview of the year was Greg Olsen and Cutler. I then just assumed it was this years. I didn't even realize that the two people were first up last year. My mistake.

The players treat him like shit because they don't respect him. Would they act like that with Biggs or Mully or Tom Thayer? no way. ZZ is an ass-licker and the players treat him like one.

Excellent post.

Yah, it's all about respect and despite his Bernstein-esque serious sounding voice he tries to use - Zach comes off as a high school student trying to do a hard hitting interview for his school's "news" station. I don't know why they wouldn't let Hub do these, other than he was removed from the radio booth and maybe the Bears aren't interested in him having any sort of real access to the team? I'd much rather hear Mulligan or someone else do it - hell, how great would it be to hear Boers try to stumble through an interview like this, without Bernsteing?

Jay comes off as a total gasbag, but I have to admit that I enjoy Zach getting razzed.

"Bears All Access" may be a co-production of the Chicago Bears Network and 670 The SCORE, but it's become push the button radio for me. The issue is that certain players act like first class jerks and host Zach Zaidman can't seem to get a word in edgewise, let alone steer the show properly.

you're right on about double Z. i mean, i think the guy honestly tries his best and wants to lick some ass in the hopes of "coming up in the biz" as his buddy larry ascended from bears beat guy to host then nights/fill-in host and all of that, but his whole schtick is kind of meh.

as for tom thayer, i think i can summize it like this: one morning after a party as i was walking back to the loyola red line i saw a grizzled looking dude with a sign saying "homeless vet, please help" sitting there right in the middle of the grandiose median on sheridan road (it was one of those with an elevated area with trees and shrubbery or something).. i decided to give him a dollar or two and roll him up a few cigarettes, so i hung out with him talking about some war stories and shit and while we talked he'd turn away to show his sign to cars queueing up at the light. sure enough, as we're doing it i see a jet black bmw with nice custom blacked out rims scoot up and the thick shavedheaded guy driving literally slaps a 20 in his hand in one slick motion as he's coming to a stop. as he pulled up a little bit before the light changed i noticed that he had some custom ND license plates and then it hit me i was like "OMFG IT'S TOM THAYER" and he extended his left fist out the window as he damn near peeled out driving off like the badass that he is.

respect due.

While I admire the purity of your hatred for Cutler, I think your animus may be pushing you towards a psychotic break. Certainly your comments above indicate you've entered an alternate reality.

Urlacher and Kreutz, whom you evidently believe have demonstrated exemplary behavior in their media relations, are absolutely notorious for their treatment of Bears beat reporters. Urlacher himself authored the ridiculous "What do you think of that question, Jamar?" incident on All Access last season and Kreutz is known for disrupting and prematurely ending media gangbang sessions during the season. You only undermine your initial point by citing these two goofs as examples of strong leadership.

I said they are the leaders. I didn't say it was strong leadership.

What I heard there was not how I would expect a leader to behave especially on a show produced by his employer. I'd say the same thing about Kruetz or Urlacher.

How do you know Brian and Olin are leaders and Jay isn't? If you're relying on their behavior to the media, I assume you realize how idiotic that is. But if you are relying on hearsay, I can give you some solid info on Jay being a leader if you would like.

Are you saying Kruetz isn't the leader of the offense? I've rarely heard anyone else even mentioned in that discussion and never heard anyone say that Jay was the leader of the offense.

He's a leader, sure. The Bears players still vote for their captains... meaning they voted for Jay last year. I don't personally think he has an unreal ability to call heads or tails, so perhaps there is another reason.

Here's a cool article: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010 ... ncos-bears

Hester goes on to say he is "more of a leader." Using your logic, I can rest assured knowing he was a leader last year from that comment. Maybe not a good one, but then again, you just admitted Olin and Urlacher probably aren't.

So who is the best not-good leader the Bears have? Or is it possible there is more than one?
