Can I just start by declaring my love for Alan Trammell. The last game I remember him managing in place of Lou he pulled Lee and Aram after the team was embarrassing themselves down some 10 or so runs. Tonight in his first (again) of an undetermined string of games as manager he has Nady at 1st.

You will be bitching about Trammel by the 4th inning.

Nonsense. He can do no wrong. He could suit up and play 1st and I would love him even more.

The cubs have the lead, the cubs have the lead!! Z can't get into too much trouble and mess this up since he should hit his 80 pitch limit around the 3rd inning.

Bases loaded in the 2nd. We're close, close, close to another Z explosion. You could cut the tension with a knife.

Ya just cant beat this kind of play from your $91 million superstar. 4 innings, 6 walks. This guy's act is as old and tiresome as this franchise.

I'd like to cut his achilles with a knife. That's how you beat the Smails. His weight distribution is off and he's pushing everything.

Seven walks in 5 innings...holy christ!

His release point is all jacked up. He is trying to guide the ball at the last second instead of having a smooth throwing motion. It is something that should be correctable.

Season saved. The Hoff has arrived. May he never leave...until he signs a minor league deal with Baltimore in the off season. The only thing really saved though is a fraction of this teams ever decreasing dignity by having someone out there that despite all his shortcomings will most likely put in an actual effort.

Well at first I thought he actually benched him, but if turned out that he left the team so it was Nady by default. Hoff should there tonight.

This team is looking pretty solid with The Hoff at 1st. Way to move the runner over and keep this big inning going.

Hoff completely owned the finish of that double play. Seriously, It looked phenomenal. He just looked that laser guided throw right into his glove and all I can say is "Inning Over".

Fine job Bob in letting the TV audience know that while Fuk made a high throw over the head of his relay, The Hoff had his head in the game and made a fine effort to snag the errant ball. Keep living the dream Hoff, mine and yours.

Hoff boots an inning ending ground ball.
That's the guy you want to replace Lee.

  cmon now. For the rest of this season, you could pull Bob out of the booth and put him at first. I don't give a shit who is there as long as I don't have to see Lee's sorry ass out there.

I agree. I really fucking hate Lee. I have not liked his game for about 4 years. But now, after the trade refusal, it's gone to utter hatred. He runs like a fucking girl, too.

I asked a Giant fan this once, and he replied "Because we always have 1 finger pointed towards L.A."

Someone needs to tell Lincecum that the mullet is not a good look for him.

He would rather keep it long and look like the kid from Dazed and Confused rather than cut it all off and look like Mclovin from Superbad.

So Bob has just praised the 2nd fundamental play Hoff made with his diving stab and his quick run in the direction of his underhand toss. He, and most everyone, knows that Hoff is just filling in and is a bench player on a bad team at best. I think he also knows that with Lee gone, there is a better clubhouse, a better effort, and a better product on the field. He obviously can't say any of that, so he has to cryptically praise anything he can that has any relation to someone else being at 1st.

The more I see of Castro, the more I like him. He seems to be a "baseball player". That's something the Cub have been in short supply of.

Do I need to temper my optimism? I don't think so.

Well they won.

4 runs in the first is the most Lincecum has ever given up in the opening inning.
