Edwin Jackson is not the conclusion of a win now decision.

I'll say it again, Happ for Oswalt, Saunders for Haren, and Kenny gets Jackson for a younger more healthy prospect...and typical Kenny he throws in an extra prospect.

Happ and Saunders weren't the best players in those deals and Jackson has pitched much better than Oswalt and Haren.

Since when? Since the trade? If so that is hindsight.

I don't think there is a single person who would take Jackson over either of those pitchers.

Oh, I forgot to add the Astros threw in 13 million.

They have scouted these guys for the last month so how can it be hindsight? Oswalt makes A LOT of money.

All things being equal, probably not. Throw in all the baggage I'll take my chances on the 26 year old with the 95 MPH fastball.

Jackson hasn't pitched better than either Haren or Oswalt over the last month. He has been dogshit, an immediate fade, since the no hitter. Now maybe "Coop fixed em", but that's value added after the trade.

Jackson, at his best with Detroit, was not all that great.

How can you say it's value after the trade? That's WHY they traded for him. They thought he's the guy that can help them the most at a price they were willing to pay. That's their job.

His best days are still ahead of him.

He had a general value on the open market. I think the Sox paid above that market. I am not alone in that thinking. You don't pay new built prices for a fixer upper even if you see the potential in the fixer upper.

Hudson was a lot to give up but if they win it will be worth it.

People said Brandon McCarthy was a lot to give up.

GD and I were both on that team.

But in my defense it's not because I didn't think Danks was going to be a good pitcher, it was because I thought he was 2-3 years away. I'm pretty sure GD doesn't have a defense.

And this is why Edwin Jackson was acquired.

Freddy has been a godsend so far this season, but I don't trust him from here on out. He's thrown big games for sure, but a lot of age and miles on that arm.

If Hudson were still in the rotation his turn would have been tomorrow night. A must win against the Twins is a tough start for a rookie.

It seems a must win against the Twins may be a tough start for any Sock hurler right now. Who stands on the bump for tomorrow's matchup?

Danks.

This is not a make or break series. Even if the Sox got swept (not likely), its a only a 3 game defecit with 50some games to go.

Johnny Danks. I'd feel really good about this game but I will be in attendance which doesn't bode well for the good guys.

Danks has been my guy for over two years.
Franklin, each game in this series is worth two in the standings. The Sock need to take at least one.

Stop that, Mr. Reason. He's already preparing himself for the sweep. Rationalizing that it's not going to be so bad if they are down 3. It's the first sign of non-confidence denial.

You'll have to pull up some history on that. As I recall, I saw it as a good lefty prospect for a good righty prospect who happened to be a little closer to the MLB. Massett was thrown in to make up the difference. As it worked out Danks was closer than the Rangers realized.
