The Yaz story with Yaz like a cat was pretty funny. Hawk said that Perkins should be nailing his teammates when he left the game. Viciedo should be heading to AAA immediately, he is swinging at everything in sight; no wonder he has no walks. Danks was good in the game, getting out of jams and making good pitches.

On an somewhat-related note: I am watching on WGN America so please avoid this if you did not see the commercial but that commercial for the Piranha movie always reminds me of the Twins just because of Ozzie calling them the Piranha's.

Absolutely right. Hawk has always been a professional announcer. Santo is a professional doufus. But Hawk is still the most annoying play by play guy in baseball.

Hawk maybe be annoying at times, but his is passionate about this team if nothing else. There are also a LOT worse guys calling games out there. Anybody thats had MLBTV (RFDC has mentionedt his before too) knows that. The Tigers announcers are brutal.

Santo at least keeps it to grunts and groans. He's also not the primary guy, you know that Pat does most of the talking.
Santo isn't IN YOUR FACE all the time. Hawk is. Hawk is also pretty disrespectful to the opposing players and to the umpires almost every single time I hear him.
Santo is awful. He makes me not want to listen to the games on the radio. But Pat does a decent job and although Santo is an embarassment to the Cubs and to broadcasting as a whole, he's just the sidekick. An annoying sidekick is easier to disregard than an annoying play by play guy.

Hell of a game last night. Danks is a stud. Big home run by Quentin and Pierre had a big hit too. The Sox have hit Liriano (1-3 5.82 ERA) and if Gavin puts up another good outing they should have a good chance of winning the series and taking a game lead in the division.

John Danks gave the White Sox what they needed last night, going 8 innings, allowing only 1 run on 6 hits, 2 walks & 7 K's. In a perfect world, I would've given Danks a chance to go the complete game route, but his pitch count reached 116 pitches at that point. Still, Danks was outstanding last night beating the Twins.

The lineup is in for tonight's finale of this first place showdown between the Twins & White Sox. These are the guys Ozzie put pen to paper and will face Twins' lefty, the much tougher Francisco Liriano, tonight at U.S. Cellular Field:

Ozzie likes to have a guy who can hit in the 9th spot. Beckham has been doing well there, so might as well keep him.

AJ should be hitting 8th (I don't care of he is a lefty of not), and Castro should be getting at least 2-3 starts a week.

+1. I like Homer Hawk. Have any of you listened to some of these other boring-ass announcers around the league? Just brutal.

What has happend to AJ this year? During spring training, I noticed he lost some weight and thought he would have a solid year offensively.

I wish he would take a walk at times and not swing at everything.
