In fairness for the defense, they are doing nothing interesting. Two deep shell every play. You should be able to beat that. SD is running corner blitzes and shit. I have no idea what that's about. First preseason game, yo. It's like winning an argument on the internet.

Erik Kramer: "Bears don't do a whole lot of blitzing."

WTF? The Bears have blitzed more times over the past two seasons that any team in the NFL.

while i do agree with irish boy on the internet argument comparison, for fuck's sake, the first team defense getting gashed against their second team rushing offense is kind of, you know, ominous.

It's their first string offense still. Matthews will start for them.

It's funny to hear all about the Mike Martz offense when they are running the most nondescript crap possible. Iso from the I formation? "Boy, the mad scientist is at it again."

I mean no ill will towards the man, but I don't really want to see Rasheid Davis on the team anymore. I know he's a special teams contributor, but it's the principle of the thing.

That Aromashodu is still the fourth receiver on the depth chart makes me assume that his breakout game might have been a bit of a fluke. Or at least, they think it was a fluke.

if steltz is out for a bit, one of our white guys is going to have to grow a shoulder-length mane in order to maintain the balance of white football in chicago.

Robbie Gould can't do that! Ever, he can't! This is common wisdom and I heard Mac say it so it's true.

Rashied Davis isn't young. The WR ship has sailed. He's 5th, at best, on the depth chart, and I'm sure there's some project with higher upside you can find somewhere. And while the special teams contributions are valuable, he's easily expendable, and has been for some time.

yup i know. its already a little disturbing watching these 2nd teams where theyre all black. its not chicago football, but at least the season is back on. we just have to hope the white real players comes back for game 1, which they should.

Does the #4 come after #2?

That move by Taylor is why I'm really pessimistic about Forte. That's what a RB must do, and you very rarely get that from Forte.

that last angle they used to show martz makes him look like the christina hendricks of offensive coordinators.
