Hey, this is pre-season ... don't let B&B hear you talking about anything substantive in regards to a pre-season game, especially during 2nd/3rd team time.

Also, TE the same as HB is a bit over-generalized. I see your point, but on this team, not so much ... there's a reason Forte's in the backfield rather than Olsen, for example.

Piss on Paul Oliver.

I mean for the second HB. You don't want a tight end getting rushes, for sure. The second guy is going to block and catch passes. A fullback is a better blocker than a TE, but a TE should be better at both than a HB. So you shouldn't see two true HBs in the backfield, regardless of terminology.

The only thing you could possibly gain is the "trickery" from the other team not knowing who will be rushing the ball, but you lose a blocker for that, and the trickery is pretty weak as far as this stuff goes. BUT: if you see some of the split back stuff they wheeled out in the first half in the regular season, maybe you'll see some Forte/Taylor combos. I hope not, as I'm not a big fan of the pro formation, but it's conceivable.

I was just assuming some pro-formation to help cover up our (perceived) WR play-learning deficiencies ... in that respect, we've got many interchangeable parts.

Also, now Chicago has it's QB to root for coming in next series, and it's not Haney.

Ah I love Bear panic in the first preseason game of the year. The only thing that would make this night better is to have Spaulding here bitching about things too.

Saying things like that could get you put in the penalty box for a couple days.

A debate over TEs and RBs as HBs or the collective IQ of our WR staff doesn't quite qualify as panicking ... or is this a case where I'm missing something obvious?

Nope. I've watched every minute.

Kramer doesn't keep up with the Bears. That's the only explanation for his comment about Urlacher never missing a game until last year.

A small sampling.

i remember one game where he made one diving pass deflection in the endzone. that's the extent of my vault of chris harris fondness.

the scariest thing on the chargers' scoring drive was another instance of a ~20 yard pass going to a wideout with no defenders within ~3-5 yards of him... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING FIELD!!@

i mean it's one thing if someone blows a coverage, but when your defensive coach is getting pantsed to where a guy directly in front of the quarterback has nobody within ~3-5 yards of him, we're entering the singletarian realm of pants-removal.

Fair enough ... though aside from Hoffy & Hernandez, I don't read much of anything the other yahoos ever post, so you can perhaps begin to understand my PoV.

You can be such a butt wipe.

No real complaints, I didn't expect much. I think they are using these games to see what they have. The coaching staff seems smarter (except Lovie) and they know they have to succeed. They ran more than I thought, and lacked creativity as Martz has been known to do. I'm hoping they were just looking at the line, specifically the right side...

Which is terrible. The offensive line needs help Omiyale is bad. When Forte missed the blitz Omiyale guy was right there too. Give up on him, put in Schaffer and if he can't do it hope that Webb can be taught. Kinda hurts to say but Beekman was bad too. Worse than I could have possibly thought. I was thinking it was going to be time to move Kruetz along but no way.

If I were the opposing team I'd blitz all the time until they made it hurt and the Bears have potential to do that. I did see the WRs open quite a bit. I love DA. I'm warming up to Knox. I really don't think Hester is ever going to be good. Not willing to move on yet though. They seem to have gotten the system okay, nobody looked lost. This is their hope, this is the part that will be fun to watch, and I think they can do it. Hopefully that will help the run game. Otherwise this is going to be bad, I will be angry and have to have blue drinks.

I was expecting a little more from the Dline but I'm not worried yet. The talent is there and I hope real game day is motivation. If the offense is bad I could see them saying f it though and then you have a real problem because...

The secondary isn't going to be very good. The intelligence, instincts, and tackling is not there and they need to not play so far off in coverage. That shit has to go. They still seem reactionary and I want to see agressive - that goes for the whole d.

I agree with those that are done with Rashied and I'd like to add Wolfe.

I'm excited and looking forward to it. I hope ES considers this original. Fucker.

What has Omiyale done to keep running him out there? I don't understand how they keep talking up his potential.. he's been a pile of suck since he's been in the league
