That's a pretty idiotic thing to say. Is this Fred and his wife? They don't exactly look like prime examples of world-beating DNA themselves. I don't know what his wife does, she may be extraordinarily bright, but he never struck me as being a Nobel Laureate when I heard him on WSCR.

SHUDDERThat was a weird thing for Fred to say. Kind of horrible. I don't think I've ever heard that from a couple that wanted to adopt. Most couples desperatley want a child. You either do or you don't. Nobody changes their mind because they saw a bad batch.
Quality of children out there? What the hell kind of comment is that? Fred saying this means they really didn't want to adopt. The way you describe it, it seems so casual.
Fred - Want to adopt a kid?
Wife - Sure.
Fred - Let's go to an orphanage and check out some of these little bastards.
Wife - Ok
Fred - Holy shit!!! These things suck. Where did they get them? Good god, look at that one!!! (Fred points at the kid causing the kid to cry) Fuck it, let's just get a gold fish.
