i guess pappy is going to have to show us his w2 in 8 months when he gets fired. i dont care how much he makes or doesnt make, i just find it funny that mr. every station needs a millon dollar guy has put himself in this spot. he is the one who said he would have a job at the same money in no time, well, no and thats what i am calling him out on.

i dislike pappy because he is a self absorbed, lyiing, back stabbing prick who screwed as many people as he could to profit him, so now, when he is bottom feeding for anything, yea, i am enjoying it.

would have loved to hear spaceball's pitch.

Space - "Don, (VP at Fox sports Radio) I need a favor.

Don - "what?"

Space - "Mike North just got shitcanned from his CBS morning tv show here in Chicago and needs a gig."

Don - "Isn't this the guy who got conned in that webio ponzi scheme? "

Space - "He used to make $1 mil./yr at the Score in Chicago.

Don - " Why did he get let go if he is such a great personality?"

Space - " The show was never promoted"

Don - " You will owe me big time if I hire this clown, ok?"

Space - "wait till my guy brings in some bigtime sponsors like Notre Dame"

Don - " Wait, the University of ND will be one of his sponsors?

Space - "No, ND HS in niles , IL will be a local sponsor, they will pay us $75/live read"

Don - "We can give him $9.75/hr and after 90 days, if he gets a good review, we can bump him to $10.25/hr. No benefits and he has to clean the studio in chicago himself, Ok?

Space - "We'll take it. "

You better stick with your day job & forget the comedy bit.

I honestly think north called Schwartz in desperation to help him anyway possible because he knew there was no way he would get another shot in Chicago. He's burned too many people with his promises of bringing in sponsors, delivering ratings and being an asshole to everyone when things didn't go his way. Always blamed others.

This isn't his big chance, he's filler. He really needs any paycheck he can get.

That's exactly what happened. Spaceball got him the gig.

http://blogs.vocalo.org/feder/2010/08/%E2%80%98persuasive%E2%80%99-pal-sets-up-happy-landing-for-mike-north/34352

It amazes his admirers and infuriates his detractors, but somehow Mike North always manages to land on his feet. Just five days after his low-rated morning show on WBBM-Channel 2 was canceled, the veteran sports talker has resurfaced with Fox Sports Radio.

Details of North’s duties are still being worked out, but the network announced this week that he’d been added to the roster of hosts. “We couldn’t be happier to have Mike join the Fox Sports Radio family,” said Don Martin, vice president and general manager of the outfit based in Sherman Oaks, Calif. “His credentials in sports talk radio speak for themselves.”

If you’re wondering how North was able to make the deal so fast, look no farther than to Jeff Schwartz, his longtime friend and business partner, who became a consultant for Fox Sports Radio at the end of June. “I guess I’m still persuasive,” Schwartz told me Tuesday night. “Always have been and always will be.”
Schwartz also was involved in Webio, the Internet radio operation North launched with financing from David Hernandez, who turned out to have swindled investors of millions. Schwartz served as senior vice president and general sales manager of the venture until the business collapsed in June 2009. Earlier, he had been operations director of CBS Radio sports/talk WSCR-AM (670) during North’s heyday at the Score.

Urging fans to follow his upcoming show on foxsportsradio.com, North said he was “really looking forward” to starting at Fox Radio soon. In a message on his website, he added:

“Want to thank Don Martin of Fox and my guy, Jeff Schwartz, for getting it done. We’ve always said XM concentrates on the coasts and ignores the Midwest. Well we will cover the national sports scene like a blanket, but Chicago and the Midwest will be represented big time!”

North’s landing at Fox Sports Radio explains why he so abruptly exited Channel 2 as a co-host of “Monsters and Money in the Morning,” the two-hour gabfest he’d co-host since February. Although the show still had two weeks to go, he and co-host Dan Jiggetts flew the coop Friday, with the CBS-owned station claiming something about vacation time due.

As a result, the show’s producers were left to scramble for substitutes to finish out the run with remaining co-hosts Terry Savage and Mike Hegedus. On Wednesday, Mancow Muller filled in for North, as he will again next Tuesday. Despite publicly polite statements all around, the animosity apparently was mutual, with Channel 2 dropping all references to North and Jiggetts, and wiping them off the station’s website.

So wait, this is now being painted as North leaving them in the lurch instead of North being dismissed and not allowed back on TV? Now that is good spin.
