Mac,

I know you guys are Chicago-intensive and pro sport-intensive, but how about a set 5 minute segment each day at the same time each day that covers one of the regional colleges a little more in-depth.

There are a ton of alumni from nearby major universities. How about a beat writer or someone you know that would be entertaining that covers the specific colleges and doing a different one each day.

I'd say a day each for the Illini, ND, Wisc, NIU, and maybe Michigan. They all have Div. I football and basketball programs (maybe sub out DePaul for NIU during basketball), they all have significant Chicago ties due to the number of alumni in the area, and it would switch up the discussion a little bit from the usual Bears, Bulls, Hawks..well, Bears and Bulls.

Mac,

Has Adam Sandler invited you to be in any of his bad movies? Are you jealous of Dan Patrick? I am.

Mac, you mentioned in your ideal lineup who you would have some people as "paid contributors" to your shows. How does this work? Are a lot of guests compensated for appearing, or do you only pay people who have regular appearances scheduled (Scott Skiles last year, for example). How much are they offered? I don't necessarily mean specifics, but are we talking hundreds of dollars or thousands? Just curious.

Take me behind the scenes Mac baby. Mainly about your insiders. Bruce Levine. For example, this past update I heard him say 'the Cubs are now going to pursue Jason Marquis' after Meche signed. Now is some friend in the organization actually telling him this (this is the part I doubt, there's no benefit to them doing that), or is he just going through roster and thinking of fits himself?

The Skiles' of the world(Buddy Ryan-tell the fax story Mac, da coach) don't make entries in their day-timer calendars for less than thousands and thousands.

Mac,

It seems pretty obvious that you and Jurko are sitting in front of a computer during the show. Being that he's computer illiterate, does Tiny just sit and stare straight ahead?

Mackeytop,
Why does the show ignore the second or two of static when you re-direct the am1000 signal at dusk in the fall/winter and into spring? You'all talk like you are being heard over the air. We wind up missing a few precious words.

Mac,
What is your take 5 for favorite bits currently on the radio (who do you love, run-shoot etc) and least favorite bits (this can be all-time least favorite).

I have a question for Mackie:

During football season, you guys have a lot of commercials for sports books. Each week, it's a different book claiming to have unprecidented success. ("We've had the correct Monday Night winner every week since 1937, and we'll give you this week's pick for free!") They can't all be perfect, or no one would bet. What's the scam?

Are you kidding? There's no scam, they have inside information just before kickoff.

Those ads of which you speak are ads for touts, not books. Touts give out picks. Books located offshore take bets.

You don't know the scams of many touts? Really? There are several of them. I suggest you google "sports tout scams" and start reading.

What's interesting is that the new law is making it problematical for the radio stations to accept ads from legitimate books located offshore. Many radio stations have stopped taking ads from these books. However, they can and still take ads very illegitimate touts.

Mac,

Do you have a brother or other relative who is a waiter at Chief O'Neill's on Elston? I had dinner there with some friends the other night. I think our waiter's name was Johnny (maybe), but he could be your doppelganger!

Mac,

Why did Jeff Schwartz REALLY resign (besides having to go through angioplasty after seeing Paul Revere and the Raiders - while wearing a very gay looking shirt)?

Actually, Telemundo is probably the only relevant one during baseball season, because many of the non-English speaking players can use the station to get the message across

Mac, what were you more afraid of as a bears fan for the playoffs, grossman against the vikings or what rattay did to us?

Mac, another take 5 from Coztansa. might require a bit of thinking, but since you arent jurko, i figure you wouldnt mind ;)

take 5- favorite B-sides. not talking rare songs here, but actual albums. those black, spinny-thingamajobbers from way back when. 5 favorite LP B-sides.

FYI- a few select bands still issue thier albums on vinyl, so for example if you were to say Pearl Jam's Ten LP (oceans, porch, garden, deep, release) that would be defineitely a correct answer.

Not sure if you'll be reading this anytime soon, Mac (haven't seen you post in months), but I'd be interested to hear your take on Sean Salisbury's suspension from ESPN a few months ago - care to comment?

Justin Craig may have outlawed a death pool, but how about an arrest pool or a lawsuit pool? WHo is the first to be arrested or sued? I'd give Salisbury low odds in both those categories.

Mac, you may want to advise Salisbury to watch it with his alleged penchant for showing his camera phone penis photos to women in bars. There are some towns around here in which he could be arrested for obscenity for doing that. I don't think that would help much in your efforts, and those of your bosses, to build the ESPN 1000 brand or ratings.

As for the penis phone, I'm just too stunned to comment.

Like we don't all have one of these. I usually tell the womens to imagine it five times larger since the cell phone screen is so small.
