Texting killing the shows.

"From the 312, says Johnnys suck"
"From the 708, I like the Bears this year"

Yes, a few of them are good, but you can tell the hosst are reading as they try to talk and it kills all thought processes (Sure, insert joke here),

Also, it is confirmed it has killed the people calling the shows.

While the texting might have killed it, the process they created was the first shot. The fact that a 21 year old kid interm from Columbia college who knows nothing about sports is the determining factor of whose calls get through "The Screener" is an issue

Some shows need to get "No Screener" segments

Sure when you dont use a screen, sometimes you get a chunk of green....oohh...wait..wrong screen..... just get the dump button ready!

What's the difference? Most often, you get callers like The Brand© who say something like "I really feel that the Sox need to score more runs than their opponents in order to win."

The problem with the texts is just the ones that they choose to read.

Texts aren't going away. They make the hosts jobs easier. I agree it's lazy, and the majority of them suck, but two of our very own in Peoria Matt and johnnyfontaine consistently send in solid texts.

Let us also dump live call ins for Who You Crappin'? Either let them read your email, or WSCR should set up some voice mail account so they can screen out the crappy ones. Then maybe it wouldn't suck every 2 out of 3 times.

Is there a way to text the Score without actually having a texting plan on your phone? Also doesn't it cost an additional fee beyond just having a regular plan?

I have Verizon and they allow you to send text messages through their website at no charge.

If they're going to read texts, no from the "_ _ _" area code.....wusses!!!! Should only read if signed. They already ween out the bad ones, trust me, I know first hand.

They're not going away either, especially with the sponsorships.

Totally in favor of Dump texting. One time I had one so long it folded up and looked like elephant ears. I had to send it to my buddy.

Agreed, though I can't think of a better way to identify the texts if they don't sign them. I guess just call them 'texter' ('SEXter!')

And whoever does the 'cowards don't sign texts!' (drinky?) bit is worse.

Maybe they should just get rid of Spiegs.
