an update on 2 ex-Cubs:

Andres Blanco is having a solid year...in the last month he's moved his average from .230 to .280, and he's been on the big club the whole year

it even looks like he starts often now...here are his stats:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/p ... yerId=5943

Clay Rapada also has a 0.00 ERA in limited action

anyone know who these guys were traded for?

The Rangers definitely have a shot at the World Series, because they have less than 3 ex-Cubs.

How is this relevant to anything?

they are ex-Cubs

Cub fans like to know what happens to former players, and evaluate how trades worked out in the long run

Paul Assenmacher is in his 4th season (2005–2007, 2010) as the pitching coach for the baseball team at St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, GA.

Mark Prior in AAA for them will ensure their imminent doom.

I figured on it based on sentence structure and rambling nonsense. The Harry Carey thread coupled with this one sold me on it.

All you have to know about CGS was a quote she had (and I don't remember whose signature it was) that was full of self-deprecating humor, and whistler seems to work with a little of that him(her)self.

I'm sure you don't really believe in this superstition, but I'm pretty sure Rich Harden pitches for the Rangers, too. That's three, dooming them to meatball hell.

thank u, I wasn't for certain on it, but deep down i didnt believe Texas was a World Series team, and now I know why! I forgot about Harden

that makes 3 ex-Cubs, and they will NOT win the world series!

So, are you a CGS mult or parody?

Blanco had 3 hits yesterday and is now up to .286

very impressive...another guy that Hendry sneakily traded away for nothing last year without giving anyone an explanation for it...not that we miss him that much, but it's the idea that he gives up on young players too early and is an impatient bully

he has turned into a quality everyday shortstop for the Rangers, and guess what? he's going to the playoffs...somebody for all cub fans to pay attention to while watching the playoffs

Elvis Andrus is the starting SS for Texas. Blanco is a utility man. He was cut as the Cubs have a plethora of these types of players. There are plenty of reasons to criticize Hendry but trading Blanco is not one of them.

Clay Rapada is a journeyman who I doubt will be on the playoff roster.
