If Carmelo Anthony's getting dealt, it won't be the Knicks. He might end up in New Jersey or Brooklyn instead...Where the Nets are going to be in the next year or two.

I mean I dont know if its within the rules after just signing the contract

But as a player, you give up Boozer for Anthony

Absolutely. That could be a championship caliber team with Anthony.

Don't make me throw my Boozer shirt in the trash before the guy ever steps on the floor.

That could be a collector's item if he never plays a game...

I read somewhere that Deng may be in play. Can Denver be that stupid?

I don't think they can trade any of the guys they just signed this summer until December 1st. So, it would have to be Deng/Noah/draft picks for Melo.

Yes, pretty please happen. Melo, Noah, Rose, and Boozer would be special.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the Nuggets, Anthony would like to be traded before the season starts. New Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri has not had a face-to-face meeting with Anthony since he was hired on Aug. 31.

This can't possibly happen before the season right he is holding out for more money or something???

This trade is a pipe dream. There is no way that Denver would accept a package of Deng, Taj, and JJ for Melo. I'm sure the Bulls have offered it, and it's just not going to happen.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but what teams can make any better offer? It is not like there is a whole group of teams with such better players to include in a package.

That's a better deal than some of the crap other teams will offer. He would be signing an extension though wouldn't he?

I think the Bulls, if this is for real, would have to move Noah to get a deal done.

They would get nothing if they don't trade him. He is not resigning, and the Knicks can't offer better.

Noah, Taj, JJ, a 1st rd pick, and a 2nd rd pick.

Would you do it?

That is supposedly another possibilty.

I would.

That deal would probably work, but it would leave the Bulls extremely thin at the PF and C positions. All they would have left is Boozer and the Turkish rookie (who will probably be bad).

There'd probably be a throw in on Denver's part...but I wouldn't expect it to be much more than a body. Maybe a Birdman.

Then they should get this deal done. Birdman is my guy.

The Chicago Bulls are interested in trading for the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony, a league source told ESPNChicago.com on Thursday.

And while the source said that the team is holding internal discussions as to whether the Bulls would allow Joakim Noah to be part of any deal, Chicago has not reached a consensus. Another source close to the situation told ESPNChicago.com's Nick Friedell that Noah would not be part of an Anthony deal.

The Nuggets are hesitant to take back Luol Deng as part of a deal with the Bulls because Denver is leery of taking on long-term contracts with the collective bargaining agreement set to expire on June 30, 2011. Deng is two years into a six-year, $71 million contract, the initial source said.

Noah will make $3.1 million this season in the fourth year of his rookie deal. The center would become a restricted free agent next season unless the Bulls extend his contract.

Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that an NBA source with knowledge of Anthony's wishes told him Anthony still hopes to convince Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri to trade him, and he prefers a move to the New York Knicks or Bulls.

The Nuggets offered Anthony a three-year, $65 million extension through 2014, but if he rejects it, the team will have to consider trading the forward who has guided them to seven straight playoff berths.

"I think I'm going to convince him to be a Nugget," Ujiri said on Aug. 31. "No, I don't know, I can't make a judgment on that. Like I said, it's a process and until he tells me that ... we want him back, the city wants him back, ownership wants him back."

Anthony has never come out and said he wanted to be traded, however.

At his basketball camp this summer, Anthony dismissed all the speculation of his impending departure from Denver: "I've been hearing that for five years. I'm a Denver Nugget. I'm here, I'm with the Nuggets. I don't become a free agent until next year, if I decide not to take that extension."

Anthony, 26, has averaged 24.7 points per game in his career, including 28.2 last season

As much as it would be great to see this happen, I'm kind-of torn. I know that it would have a pretty significant negative impact if the Bulls lost Noah, especially as far as depth and team defense are concerned. I wonder if we can sell the Nuggs on Deng, Gibson, and draft picks. Hell, I'd be willing to part with the next two years' first-round picks if we didn't have to send Noah in exchange. It does look like we may have a bit of a bargaining advantage if Denver saw this as an opportunity to get something for 'Melo now instead of losing him altogether in free agency next off-season...
