In the tradition of Taft's "Fountain of Time" it should feature multiple figures including Steve Bartman, Ronnie Wickers, a Greek priest, a couple of goats, Ace from Bernie's, and the entire College of Coaches.

I'm leaning towards one of Mark Grace, Rod Beck and Jeff Blauser at a card table in the clubhouse smokin heaters, drinking beers and playin cards in only their sliders.

Prefacing this with allegedly...

What about a statue of Dave Martinez and Raffy Palmeiro tag teaming a certain 2nd baseman's ex-wife in her corncob dress? Now THAT'S a goddamn statue!

Group of Cubs fans holding a mock 'Attendance Championship' trophy while pointing and laughing at the scoreboard which shows the Sox losing to the Indians 8-2.

Though I guess we don't need a statue to see that on a daily basis...

Sammy Sosa. I know this was all a joke to most people that have posted in this thread, but if I were to guess who the next statue would be of, it would be Sosa. 3 years with 60 or more homers. Over 600 in his career. the most homers by a Cub. An MVP (1998) and probably enshrinement into the HOF. He sold a lot of tickets and provided a lot of entertainment/highlights. If not Sammy, a statue of Jenkins and Maddux, for whom the #31 was retired. Jenkins deserved the honor on his own IMO. Madux had too many of his outstanding years with the Braves. Jenkins with his 6 straight years of 20 or more wins and his HOF induction is certainly deserving as well. Jenkins and Maddux have 1 thing in common (besides both wearing #31) they are the only 2 pitchers in MLB history to have more than 3000 strikeouts and less than 1000 walks issued in their careers.

My guess would be Jenkins. There is as much a chance of a Sammy Sosa statue as there is of a Manny Ramirez statue in Boston.
