after watching the Vikings yesterday. Berrian can't catch a pass directly thrown to him even if he does get open, Harvin is making rookie mistakes, Childress out thinks himself and stops using Peterson in a close game against a tired defense, their offensive line has holes and Farve looked unprepared.

On the other hand their defense held the best offense in the league to 14 points at home, so who knows.

Don't disagree, but I see the Packers as a much bigger issue than the Vikes.

The Bears biggest problem is going to be themselves.

I thought the same thing while watching the game last night. But the Packers still worry me a lot.

I am withholding judgment on the Lions until I see them in a regular season game.

The Lions are not just bad, they are awful on D outside of the line. They don't even have the talent to be good and teams are going to move the ball regularly on them.

The offense is better, but I think people are starting to overrate them. Stafford has lots of potential but lots of room for improvement. They will have an unreasonable amount of reliance on him to keep up with what their d is giving up resulting in a lot of INT.

The recievers are ok...but how many times does Burleson have to disappoint before people get wise to him.

Jhavid Best is good. People are making him out to be great. I see him a lot like that guy they drafted out of VT a few years ago who was with the Bears...and he is already coming into the league with concussion issues.

I don't like their o-line.

In some ways, the Lions are becoming an overrated team. They have some really good talent at some key positions but that is distracting from the lack of it across the board.

My way of thinking as I stated in another thread, the Bears suck but most of the teams they play suck worse. I see a 10-6 season.

I'm channeling our dear departed Nas because I think the Bears win next week.

Despite the fact that the Cowboys look horrible, there is no way the Bears beat them in big D Sunday. Cowboys Defense is pretty good & their DB's will cover the Bears WR's like a blanket.

How does Minnesota not looking as good as advertised make the Bears any better?

A divisional opponent being worse has a direct impact on a team.

We don't have to get better...the other teams just need to get worse.

It was only 1 week and they played the Lions but the Bears looked like the best team in the division on offense and defense.

What? When did you see this best offense stuff? Mind you, my web stream died a few times, but I saw no sharpness at all.

They had almost 500 yards of offense. They moved the ball whenever they wanted to. I didn't see the same thing from the Packers or Vikings.

They couldn't run the ball. Offense shut-down in the red zone. Greg Olsen catches the ball and immediately hits the crouch position. I'm going to start calling him DA CROUTCH!!

Turnovers galore.

Defense was solid against a 0-dimensional offense in the second half. Still played the Lovie Prevent-Victory defense at the end.

Lovie is on the sidelines.

I feel exactly the same about them.

You had to like them picking up chunks of yards seemingly at will...

I mean there are issues, but did you really expect that?

Lions.

I guarantee that the Cowboys aren't going to give them 8-10-yard crossing patterns all day long.

Doc you crack me up. Illinois loses to Mizzou and you find that an "encouraging" game. The Bears win and put up almost 500 yards of offense and you are not impressed in the slightest?

Illinois' program was an embarrassment last year. That's a different standard.

And according to many here the Bears were an embarrassment the last couple of years too.

No, Demarcus ware will kill someone.

But they could have struggled offensively against the Lions. I ve seen it happen.

Im saying, I thought the offense would be a 4 and it looked like a solid 6.

Defense was solid in the first half against an offense that I heard MANY praising during the pre season.

The problems were turnovers, penalties and Lovie. These are all fixable, although I have no confidence in Lovie to actually do the fixing.

Put the ball in the end zone the three times they had it deep but didn't score and everyone would agree it was a dominant performance. 20 rushing yards against in a close game is 85 Bears type good.

They'll win 7 or 8 games. I didn't say they were awful, just that I feel the same.

They can't run the ball. Teams will get wise to the screens in lieu of a running game. Hell, they had 7 guys blocking and they still couldn't run it.

Lovie will crap a couple games away. Cutler is prone to the 2 or 3 bad throws each game that could cost you games.

The defense looked real good. Yes, they looked better than I thought but I won't believe it until they play a real team. If they hold Dallas to 3 yards/carry or less then I'll feel better about them, slightly.

They'll win 7 or 8 games.

A poor YPC is troubling.

Does anyone remember Martz' Ram offense. Were they ever much of a line it up and smash mouth with Faulk, or was it more based on spreading everyone out with the threat of a throw and then run?

I faintly remember Martz' offenses being bad in the red zone

Hard to compare Marshall Faulk with what these guys can do.

Thats what I remember.

Of course the opposing D had to worry about Holt and Bruce.
