That thread is terrific! I'm sorry I missed such outstanding radio. Heck, Fox will probably give him more air time after his well thought out picks.

 I missed UMN and Dr. Ken's thread. That was pretty funny. Now I might have to tune in this week.....

2-6-1 is what the mighty football "expert" did last week.

North can really attract the dollars.....Chet further kept drooling on himself and blathered that North knows what Chicago is thinking before Chicago does.

The above loosely translated from Coppockese from CHET'S BOOK, which I thought was pretty good for the most part.

Another fucking idiot who thought he was the shit of Chicago radio.

He was correct in thinking that.

Chet's spot in Chicago Radio history is secure and indisputable.

He's also more entertaining than half the hosts on today. He's more knowledgeable about sports than ALL of em, including Les.

I like Chet.

I needed to look into this? Why would CBS continue to pay him and let him work for FOX at the same time? North did cut a deal that he could work national, but no Chicago competition. Getting paid for the 16 months is true, but getting paid $2,000 a month just pays the cell phone bills for Mike. What he is doing covers some of his monthly overhead, but the mans expenses far outweigh his income at the moment, even with a double income.

$2000 a month? Where did you get this from? More like $2000 per week.

Why is this "Mike North & Friends" instead of "The Monsters"?
Maybe Jigs is getting ready to bail.

Its less than 24 hours before the nation is graced with this legendary radio program. I suggest you all set aside some time tomorrow morning to listen to this old friend at the peak of his game.

Its probably more like 50 or 60k for the year. This is most likely some kind of try out as well. He is going to get the first half or all of the football season and if he blows he is gone. If people like it he will get a real show, however, from listening last week that is not happening.

U think North is pulling in $2000 a week for the next 18 months for a show he is no longer on????? and getting paid by some other outlet?

I removed a quote, because of the 3 quote limit someone put on this board.

But back to the point.

You think North signed a Guaranteed deal of $100,000 a year for 2 years for an experimental 5 AM-7AM TV show with 4 people???????? That at least 1 is worth more than North by anyones standards (Terry Savage), one is not taking the job for less than North (Jiggs) and the other is maybe $50K

CBS Guaranteed $700,000 for this show that even they had to know had little hope to start and North had nowhere else to go?

Sorry Scorehead, no way this went down as you think.
