Talk about guilty pleasures. This show is not only addicting, but now I want to go to as many pawn shops as I can and swindle them out of money. The old man on this show is absolutely hilarious, and the bald guy straight up husles people.

I absolutely love this show. Haven't missed a single one. Can beat getting entertained and learning something at the same time.

How would you swindle pawn shops out of money? I think you're missing the point of the show. The only people getting swindled are the desperate drug addicts who sell stuff to the pawn shop, not the other way around.

Great show, but I find myself getting pissed at the idiots who bring stuff in all the time....how fucking hard is it to put it on ebay yourself and cut out the pawn shop/middle man???

I really didn't want to like this show, but then they broke down a tow truck driver who had/lucked into a near perfect condition Shelby Cobra frame & body. To watch them cut the legs from beneath that parasite....priceless.

How can someone mistake the point of a show about pawn shops? That doesn't even make sense.

And they don't always make the best deals, especially when the son purchases something ridiculous and faces the wrath of his bald father.

i thought about this for one woman who was trying to sell an..."ivory" tusk which wasn't ivory. the reason she brought it into a pawn shop was because she needed money quickly.

they turned her away because it wasn't ivory. but if she could've waited for a payout, she probably COULD have made money from ebay on it.

but i guess sometimes timeliness is more important for some.

Yeah really. In this day in age, there is certainly nobody that needs some quick cash for something other than drugs

Last two weeks have been new episodes. Pretty standard fare but still obviously
interesting. Last episode had the bald dad buying a nice older vinyl copy of
Bob Dylan's "Self Portrait". Just so happens Dylan is in town and has Chumlee
try to track the old guy down to sign the album. I got a kick out of the ending
although I couldn't really tell if it was completely staged or not. Dylan just
hates the camera, either that or he wanted to get as far away from Chumlee
as possible. Regardless, I found it to be an interesting cameo appearance.

A couple weeks ago they had on without a doubt the dumbest person ever to be on this show. Some woman came in with a broach she found in the back of her mom's desk, had no idea what it was and was asking for $2000. Rick opened up the case it was in and in clear view is the word FABREGE written on the case. Dumb bitch had no idea what that meant. Rick pointed out all the diamonds, rubies, emeralds etc on it and she still asked for $2000. He told her that he would like to give her 2000, but unfortunately he has a conscious so he offered her $15,000 instead. Being the stupid greedy bitch that she is she turned around and asked for $17,000. He told her to fuck off and she took the 15,000.

Rick should've just given her the 2000 she wanted and sent the moron on her happy way.

I had heard a lot about that show, so I watched it when I was over at my friend's house. About three minutes in and I was hooked. I knew I had to have that show on my TV. But I also have to get it for the right price. I called Comcast and asked about the digital cable package. They said it would be $50 a month. I told them that I didn't know a lot about cable packages, but I knew someone who did, so I was going to call him. If it all checks out alright, I'd make an offer. Once my friend came over, we went over the plan. He said that most of the plans look about the same, but some of the more valued plans throw in free HBO -- which this one had for three months. He said in a buyer's market, he'd expect a package like this to go for around $60. I called Comcast back and explained it all, and they asked for $60. I've got bills to pay, and there are hours at a time where I'm sleeping and not even watching TV. I offered $10. They said they would go to $40 but not any lower. I had to walk away. I really wanted to get that show, but if the numbers don't work, then they don't work.
