If you were told you can trade just 1 of these guys, who would you pick? Personally, I think I would go with Dempster.

This thread is an epic letdown for me. Given Zambrano's history I came in here expecting to read about another Crazy Carlos meltdown this time vs Dempster :(

Anyways I love Z but I don't expect him to put it all together anymore. Its never gonna happen...at least not with the Cub. His mental health issues have helped him waste away his potential thus far

Dempster is solid but who knows how many good seasons he's got left. Its a toss up as far as trading em both go

CC just gave up 6 last inning. The yankees should trade him.

Dempster is fine, he just had a bad night. His era is still under 4 for the season. He is as consistent of a guy as the cubs have. He is the one veteran leader I would like to stick around. Trade Z while his value is up. He could blow up at any time.

Trusting Zambrano again, is like trusting Lindsey Lohan to stay straight and sober. He has done very well since going back to the rotation. Maybe well enough to deal him. Dempster is also overpaid, but he usually gives the team a chance to win and goes 6 innings or more most every start. he's pretty solid, if unremarkable.

mark prior used to talk ABOUT god during his time here, carlos zambrano talks TO god while he's on the mound. big difference (approximately ~75 million, i guesstimate)
