I figured Rita was dead all day. What I don't get is why Dexter "voice-mail" ring didn't happen until that night. All season long Rita had no problems calling him whenever he was in the middle of something. He's chasing someone, she calls. Killing someone, she calls. At work, she calls. She's about to die and he would know to have her get the hell out of the house, voice mail he doesn't get for 10 hours.

I don't care that she's dead.

I didn't know he was married to his sister. Seems creepy.

Greatest show on TV...and maybe my favorite ever. I blew through the first two seasons in one day and have been hooked since...

Season 4 was perfection--I know this because I generally don't have an 'Oh Shit!' radar when it comes to to tv but I damn near jumped off my couch and yelled this at the highest decibals possible when this happened.....

Yeah. Well, Trinity had a lot of wiggle room in the police station, to the point of seeing the evidence board, before confront Dexter. Come to think of it, Angel sees this guy walking around. It might later occur to him that this is the perp whose house they invaded, looking for. E.g., why is he talking with Dexter? Or... not.

They had, roughly, an extra 1/2 episode of things to tie up and ended cramming them into the finale. Some of them are ginormous cracks in the floor. Ah well. :-)

It's a tv show, I'm not going to get too worked up in trying to dissect every crack in the floor. You could say the same about any show. The season kicked all sorts of ass and I can't wait for next season. But, of course you already have the message board cretins whining and bitching about the ending and how the show has jumped the shark. Whatever, next season is going to be a blast...

IIIIII PREDICT: Debra is done snooping around Harry's past and accepts Dexter's story on not remembering his mother and Brian Moser. But, with the recent turn of events Quinn will be smelling blood and he will be the one to expose Dexter to Debra..

Rumors abound that Season 5 will be the last one.

As I said earlier in the thread, in the books, Debra knows about Dexter's advocation and uses him as her expert on serial killers. (This, of course, after she's almost killed.) Also in the books Cody and the girl have "dark passengers" from watching Daddy beat up Mommy too many times. So he's like their sensei and they're the junior woodchucks. You know fool well that the baby'll have his tendencies, too. Question is, will they fast forward the show so the kid's old enough to throttle neighborhood cats by next season?

I know what you mean by it "just being a show." I think they tried to put too much into this finale and certain things weren't established right in the story. The whole shit with Dexter in county jail didn't add much, I think, and taking those scenes out would've given them more time to establish that he was waiting in the back of Trinity's Mustang (they DID establish his seeing the receipt, though.)

No doubt. Dexter at 8. Eastbound and Down at 9:30, and the repeat of Boardwalk Empire at 10.

Good ending tonight. The episode was draggin and feelin Lifetime-y until Dexter goes off on the gator-fucker at the fuel station.

Still find it off-putting that Dexter and Debra Morgan are real life husband and wife.
