And well see it proven tonight...

They Could have EASILY lost the Lions game and the Cowboys were/are just a complete mess.

No running game.
Not one reciever that can "go up and get it"
The defense has looked good but I dont expect Urlacher to stay healthy.
Tommie Harris is an Average football player
With Chris Williams out, again, the O Line Depth looks even more pathetic.
Special teams are nothing special.

I hope Im wrong.

Tonight is the measuring stick for this team. Even a loss would be OK, if they keep it close and show that they can compete. If they get blown out, I will go back to my pre-season feelings of despair for this team.

Packers are a bit of a mess too and their injuries are stacking up. I'm hoping for a win but I think they are going to get squashed.

I think this is one of those reality check games. I think the Packers are waay better than the Bears and It will show tonight.

Some on this board would accuse you of setting up a "you are happy either being right or if they win" scenario here. I wouldn't be one of them though.

Oh and Consider that the Bears are DESPERATELY COUNTING ON Frank Omiyale.

If he gets hurt, Kevin Schaeffer is your Left Tackle.

Ouch.

I dont think that the bears have anyone on their o-line that can do that. I'm just hoping that he doesn't injure Cutler tonight.

I saw on one of his sacks he kinda stayed on top of the QB a couple extra seconds. Lineman shoulda blew him up right there.

Yeah, but what would that accomplish? You just lost yardage on a sack and now you want to add an extra 15yds? Just file it away for later on and try to get a cheap shot in when no one is looking.

If you do it right, he's carried off on a stretcher and the back up comes in. It would be a net gain.

But youre right

They did not look like a complete mess yesterday beating the Texans, the same Texans who have been a pick by many people to do pretty well this year.

The chances are very slim that a player gets multiple sacks a game for three games in a row, so we have that going for us.

It's Monday Night Football. I don't expect much from the Beloved. That does not mean they are bad, just not as good as the best team in the NFC.

After this the Bears get the Giants, Panthers, Seahawks at home, Redskins at home and the Bills in Toronto. If they are less than 6-2 at the 8 game mark THAT would show they suck.

thats why I said Were/are

They seem to be coming out of it but the first two games they were certainly a mess.

olin could take him to the gun club!

i too share the general sentiment of this thread, yet, i shall be there in person to witness this national event of epic proportions. as long as we don't go out like complete bitches i like our chances against cheesecake and the g-spots next sunday night, so 3-1 is workable for the beloved, especially when the vikings stop playing the lions and resume being underwhelming.

One of my buddies does this every year for every Chicago team. "I don't think they will be good, this is why , but I hope I am wrong"

Bears' 3-0 start to season proves it's better to be lucky than good

"Five things we learned from watching the Bears pull out a rather-improbable win over the error-prone Packers at Solider Field ...

"1. I'm still not sure how the Bears have found their way to 3-0 for the first time since 2006, but I do know they're the last and most unlikely team to be perfect in the NFC. This Chicago team is living something of a charmed existence so far in 2010; and in its own way, this game deserves to be right there alongside the Week 1 win over the Lions, in terms of winning with good fortune. It's true that Chicago hasn't played a complete game yet, but it's also true the Bears haven't lost yet, either. Would you rather be lucky or good?

"Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler was his team's poster child for this peculiar game. He threw one interception against Green Bay, but it could have easily been five. The Packers dropped two passes that were right in their hands (Nick Collins and Charles Woodson) and penalties wiped out two other Green Bay picks. When you add in Green Bay's team-record 18 penalties for 152 yards (breaking a record set in 1945), and the Packers' special-team lapses, this had the feel of a self-inflicted Green Bay loss more than an impressive Chicago victory.

I have never, ever seen a QB get bailed out of more INT's because of defensive penalties like Cutler did last night. He literally threw 4 interceptions.

I said they only had to keep it close in order for me to buy in that they are a good team, but they won the game and I still dont know what is happening here. If Jones doesnt fumble that ball the Packers win this game despite 15+ penalties. That doesnt give me good feelings going forward.

You can look at this two ways:

1) A win is a win, and your Bears are 3 - 0.

2) They haven't won in convincing fashion as of yet this season (well, maybe Dallas), so you should be concerned.

If I were a Bear fan I would lean more towards the first option.

I didn't think the Bears would be good this year.

I am very happy they are 3 - 0 but am not getting out over my skiis yet regarding the season.

Cutler gives me hives, but he is just exciting to watch and can only get better with time.

Are the Packers better? Maybe, but not last night.

Go Bears!

The overall story is the same, in my point-of-view. The O-line is horrid - I thought they were showing some good protection early on, but Cutler was hurried on every other play, and this obviously resulted in some poor decision-making by Jay. The line can't open up a whole for the running game to save their lives, and that will obviously continue to put too much pressure on the passing game - not a good formula for a successful team.
The defense-good God, how many times are you just gonna give the opposing QB ALL FUCKING DAY to throw the ball??!! And they give up too much real estate at a time, as GB just marched down the field at will, just before shooting themselves in the foot by penalties. I understand it's the nature of this D to bend-not-break, but it's going to give me a damn coronary. A win is a win, but I'm still not sure what we have here...

Forgive me if I'm still not totally sold. The Bears have a great QB, great pass-rusher, some good LBs, and quality offensive coaching, but their secondary and OL are still for shit and eventually it's going to catch up to them. Given the schedule, though, that may not be until mid-January.

Not if the valiant powerhouse that is New England has anything to say about that in December.

Just because the Bears are 3-0 doesn't mean I'm getting carried away by any means. I believe a couple years ago, the Bears got off to a hot start as well and it went downhill starting with a road loss to the Falcons in Atlanta. I believe that team missed the playoffs in the end... That being said, let's savor these wins and try not to get too carried away.
