They'll be lucky to be 4-6 after that stretch.

So that makes the Bears better by default? I guess it does.

I agree. That's a tough stretch for Minny.

In 70% of the alternate Universes, the Bears are 1-2. I'm just glad to live in this Universe.

All I know is that I'm enjoying the hell out of watching the Bears get off the bus passing the football.
I still cant believe I'm watching the Bears run these wacky formations chucking the ball all over the place.
It's fun as hell.
I am enjoying Mike Martz as the head coach of the Bears.

Bears still don't look good. No run game, bad pass blocking, and bad secondary. Pack wins the game if they hold onto the pick. The refs missed a block in the back on the Hester return.

I quoted poorly, or nonexistently. That was in response to the preseason line. I think Chicago is better on their own, but if Minnesota just ended their preseason, then they're going to find the real season awfully unaccommodating.

Pretty great win, but 17 Packer penalties...holy crap! And fucking Lovie fails to take the points and tie the game AGAIN!! This fucking guy is brain dead!

Based on the first 3 games, they're probably favored in every game except NE, NY, and GB.

And they might be favored for NE and NY at home.

They won't be favored at Minnesota, and maybe not at Miami. But they'll be favored in half those games. If that's the tough stretch (and it is), then I'm unconcerned.

Remember, folks: everyone is pretty mediocre. Green Bay shot themselves in the foot, but the Bears also missed a field goal and dropped a ball in the end zone. No team has looked outstanding thus far except maybe Pittsburgh. If this were a Falcons message board or a Saints message board or, god forbid, and Eagles message board, gaskets would be blown. All these teams have serious flaws. We need to recalibrate our idea of "good NFL team" downwards, perhaps quite drastically.

sorry for giving credit to a UofC guy for scoreheads work, but how are you unconcerned? there is potential there to lose every single one of those games? Man, I need to stick to hockey, this parody is too much

Why is it jumping on a bandwagon when it is your team? Sure this team has concerns, but they are 3-0 and just beat the Packers. Just enjoy it for a night and go back to putting pins in your Lovie Voodoo doll tomorrow.

I'm not rooting for myself to be right. I hope I'm wrong.

But, I've just come to the realization these past few years that I know where this "system" is going and it isn't to the Super Bowl.

I'll accept a playoff win. At that point, I will rescind my objection to Lovie leadership for a year, but I just don't believe that will happen.

Like I said, I think they're favored in half those games. Even if you only see three wins there, find two losses in the next five.

Well you know, you kind of do do that. I mean you called GB a better team, after the bears beat them. Dude 17 penalties are not the sign of a good team. Some dumbass shit too. BAD PI's. that wasn't the ref being mean.

They're much closer than I thought prior to the season, given that to make that number would require a few fortuitous bounces and they've gotten 2 games worth so far.

That said, I still say they'll probably end up at 8 or 9 with a better chance at 10 than I thought.

No. 8-8 at best still. Lots of holes on this team still. I think they may be the Broncos of last season, and have a few fluke wins to start the season.

I thought they were 8-8 but not solid. A few good games where they look all pro then games where you don't think they belong in the NFL. Thing isI think they have talent. It just needs to come together.

Some of the penalties were because the Bears outplayed the Packers at certain positions. Peppers caused a few holding penalties and probably created a few that weren't called. But some were just stupid. The last PI was just dumb; he wasn't beat or anything, he just freaked out. The personal foul on Collins was inexplicable.

The announcers were brutal. On one play they had Clay getting the pick and hitting Cutler, and he did neither. Can't believe nobody picked up the block in the back on the Hester return, I saw it live without the replay.

Awful announcers, ESPN has the worst telecast in the NFL. The play by play guy said the Pack recovered that fumble. To boot how does Boomer justify his Packers pick to win the game, because Julius Gardinara (sic) Peppers doesn't go on brats, the great chicago food? I think you meant Italian Beefs there Boomer.

Biggest pet peeve though the long drawn out commercial breaks every single time there was a transition.

I'll say it again for the umpteenth time...why the hell is Tommie Harris still a member of the Chicago Bears?
They can release him tomorrow & save about $8 million in salary this year & $8 million next year.
They should cut him loose & get it over with.
