As per his agreement with Lance Briggs (should the Bears start the season 3-0), Carmen is gonna have his hair cut into a Mohawk hair-style. I believe it will happen on the show tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. i think Jurko and Harry are gonna have a LOT of fun at Carmens expense on this one.

This is a supergay radio gimmick. Super. Gay.
Put a tatt of Jurco on your arm... that's a fucking bet.

It may be a radio "bit", but seeing Carmen sporting a Mohawk is gonna be funny. It's probably good for the station, in that it may make some people aware of the station that were not before. I'm sure there will be some coverage of it on TV stations, with Giangreco connected to the station. But even if it is good for nothing else, it should provide some laughs, with Jurko and Harry having fun with Carmen over it. You know Carmen figured there was no way the Bears beat both the Cowboys AND Packers, so it seemed like a safe bet.

I guess the PR machine that is the elmhurst steve brand isn't doing the station justice.

What is it going to take for an Elmurst Steve to sport a mohawk cut?

Cubs win the World series???......Nah, even then I wouldn't do it. What would be the point? If I were making a bet that included me having to get a Mohawk if I lost the bet, I would have to have something coming my way if I won the bet. Carmen made the deal with him getting a Mohawk if he lost and NOTHING if the Bears did not go 3-0. I would never make a bet that is strickly a 1 way bet.

Yeah, good point. That wasn't a very savvy move on Carmen's part.

So, let me get this straight.
You won't hire minorities because those Winnetka folks are scared of people that don't look like them, but you'd show up to a job with a mohawk because you lost a bet (that had a probability you could win) and that does not mean you look unprofessional?

Look we all get it....you must be having more problems with your family or something, because all you do lately is look for an argument. You've been a real asshole lately. But if you READ the post again, you will see that I said even if the Cubs did win the World Series that I would NOT get a Mohawk and it's the fact that it would look unprofessional (and not particularly good) that led me to say that I would NOT do that. But keep looking for something to get into a spat about, by all means....

 No, you being a full of shit jackass doesn't mean I'm having problems, Steve. I'm just pointing out more of your nincompoopery. I like it, I like pointing out that you have posted about a manager who managed 23 games but has a 27-6 record, or about a team that's 44-10 in their last 35 games or about how good Kyle Orton can be for the Bears this year. That shit is rawkin gold!
But you DID say that you WOULD if it were a winnable bet or a good payoff didn't you?

No Dipshit....I said I wouldn't make a bet that only had a payoff for the other party and never said I would get a Mohawk under any circumstances. However, if it was a legitimate bet where someone said they would bet me ( and I knew I would be paid if I won) the Hawks would not repeat as divisional champs and I had to bet getting a Mohawk VS him paying a million dollars, then I guess I would make the bet. Then the payoff is worth the risk of having to wear a hat for a couple months, should I lose the bet. But making a bet that you can't win but only lose...doesn't make a lot of sense. Now, unless you have something to add to the actual topic here, kindly go fuck off.

I'm just seeing what you wrote stever. You said "If I were making a bet that included me having to get a Mohawk if I lost the bet, I would have to have something coming my way if I won the bet." meaning that you WOULD make the bet as long as you would have something coming your way if you won. Those are your words, officer, not mine.
You can't just change the meaning of your sentences after you write them. It's like trying to justify DWB tickets after you write them.
But I'm enjoying your backtracking. It's fun to see you backpedal.
I'll keep pointing out your mistakes. For me, it's entertainment, and entertainment is what I come here for. I like to stir things up, and if I can do that by showing what a boob you are I will.
It's fun!

Yeah, and as I have stated, if I had a bet that involved me getting a Million dollars if I won VS getting a Mohawk if I lost and I liked my chances on the bet, I would risk the haircut. I'd risk having to wear a hat for a couple months for a chance to win a million dollars. But to risk a Mohawk with no chance of anything in return doesn't make sense. Honestly, it wouldn't even have to be a million dollars. Maybe a 1st class trip for my Wife and I to Fiji or New Zealand. That would probably do it.So yes, if the terms were right, I would take the risk and make the bet.

Would you bring a balck employee to a Winnetka job if the customer paid enough to get you to Fiji?

You don't have to worry about getting a mohawk, steve. The Cubs will never win the World Series.

Thats factually incorrect. They already won several. The last 2 were in 1907 and 1908. If you meant they will never win ANOTHER World series, I would guess you are wrong. However, not knowing how the Ricketts family will approach their job as owners, it's tough to say. What is safe to say though, is that I will never sport such a hairstyle.

Several = more than 2.

That is correct. Because the Cubs will never win the World Series in your lifetime.

IS that because a mohawk reminds you of minority Native Americans or minority blacks like Mr T?

My God Steve. You are unbelieveable. You really think this hair shaving to mohawk event will be just down right funny. Oh, and its on the radio. Good God. I've bit my lip on piling on you, but man, you just ask for it. Here's a list of other things Elmhurst Steve finds funny:

10. Dane Cook
9. The John Cicco's Menwear ladies talking and singing during their commercials
8. Jim Belushi
7. The comicstrip Cathy
6. Carrot Top
5. Louie Anderson
4. Veronica's Closet
3. Corky Romano
2. Mike Golic talking with a donut in his mouth

Louie Anderson was actually quite funny when I saw live him before Dangerfield died...

the rest I agree with.

Carmen should stick to a bet that involves a steak dinner. Now THAT would be a bet.

This sounds like it's gonna be a LOT of fun... a real hoot!

I'll definitely tune in to a show that I never listen to, for 4 hours, so I don't miss hearing what it sounds like when they give Carm a mohawk. Then I can imagine what a guy whom I have no idea what he looks like at all, now looks with a mohawk.

I'm giddy with anticipation of the ribbing the boys are gonna lay on poor ole Carm... neato!

The only thing on that list that is accurate is Dane Cook. I do think he's pretty funny and I don't care a bit if you don't.

This section of the message board is dedicated to people that listen to the Afternoon Saloon. Things that are going on in the Afternoon Saloon would be accurately described as topical. Carmen having to get a Mohawk hairstyle due to the Bears starting the season 3-0, qualifies as topical news about the Afternoon Saloon. Do I think it qualifies as a huge event, not to be missed...No. But is it topical news on the show this part of the message board is dedicated to...YES!

Why someone that doesn't listen to the Afternoon saloon, feels like posting in the section of the message board dedicated to that show is a good question....

Not sure what you mean. I said I'll definitely tune in. But if you had a good question, maybe you should ask it.
