Jets +3-1/2 @ Minnesota
Neither one of these teams can be trusted as a favorite, but as a dog with a hook, I like the J-E-T-S. Last week's pratfall vs. Buffalo gives me confidence they will be well-prepped for this one. Since the first two weeks of the season, the Vikings have gone 4-7, with two of those wins vs. the Lions. And the way Minny plays...with nary a downfield passing game...it's tough for Minny to get separation on any team. The Jets do go downfield and Minny is in the bottom 3 in pass defense in the league.

Tennessee +3-1/2 vs. Jax
Situational play here. Titans have won four straight and lost to the Ravens five weeks ago by 1 point. The last game in which the Titans were spanked was against these Jags on Nov. 5. But here we have Jax coming off a huge win and going on the road, where they've shown they are capable of puking in their mouth (Houston). Jax off a big win and beat the Tits by 30..just the recipe for a home dog hanger.

BUFFALO -1 vs. Miami
These are two of the hottest teams the last six weeks. I was on Miami for several games straight and they are coming off an impressive win over the Pats. The Bills have won four of their last six with their only losses to San Diego and Indy by 1 and 3 points. This is the very first time I have ever bet Buffalo as a favorite with J.P. Losman at QB . But I'm not doing it because of him. I'm doing it because of the Bills run game, their defense and the fact that this game is being played in December in Buffalo. Joey Harrington has been competent in Miami. He hasn't had to throw in the frigid wind tunnel known as Ralph Wilson Stadium. He will today and it might not be pretty.

A few picks for today's games...

Jacksonville -3 1/2 vs. Titans
I think Jacksonville's defense will keep this game close and by the fourth quarter I think their running game will take over. Jaguars 28-16

Eagles +5 1/2 vs. Giants
I think this is a gift (Last time I said that the Colts were favored one over the Jags  )

Rams +3 vs. Raiders
If you take away the two Devin Hester kick returns, the Rams were right in that game against the Bears. I think they come out and bully the Raiders around with the ground game and then strike in the air on play action. Rams 30-12

Chiefs + 8 1/2 vs. Chargers
I guess I really like the dogs this week. This will be a shootout by both teams. Sure, the Chargers win, but the Chiefs will give them their first scare in quite some time.

Bengals +3 vs. Colts
Yea, I'm one disgruntled Colts fan right now. The run defense is worse than I've ever seen in Indianapolis. Rudi! Rudi!

Carolina +3 vs. Pitt
Simple arbitrage here. This one should be pick. Line is a market over-reaction to Panthers' struggles and Pitt's resurgence. The donkeys apparently have Christmas money in their pockets already, because they are writing the road chalk today.

Pretty sharp card, Mitch Cumstein. Not a square play in the lot. Good luck.

NY Jets @ Minnesota under 41
Minnesota's offense is awful unless they are playing the Lions. The Jet D has been better lately.

Washington +10
Let down game for the Saints who might be looking ahead to the Giants next week. Jason Campbell has played pretty well, and should be able to score points against a suspect Saint D.

Tennessee +3.5
The Jags are bad as road chalk. Young is 8-1 ATS as a starter, and I think that they keep this one close.

NYJets +3.5 over Minny

If this game would have been played last week Minny probably only a 1pt fav. Should be defensive game and I think the Jets win SU so gettin 3.5 a plus.

Tenn +3.5 over Jax

Tenn is on fire and they get the Jags at home today. Jax with a big win over Indy last week and I think they might be a little flat as they did beat Tenn 37-7 earlier this year. Tenn goes for their 5th straight today and I think they get it.

Detroit +6 over Green Bay

Detroit hasnt won here in a long time and they suck on the road even worse than they suck at home. Before last week Green Bay had given up 30+ pts in 3 straight so they arent much better. I will take 6pts in a game between two not so good teams.

Under 34.5 Cle/Bal

Just cant see Cle with a raw QB doing much against this Bal D in Bal. Earlier this year these 2 played in a 15-14 Bal win. I see this one 20-6 Bal.

Houston +13
Sure enough, the squares are pounding New England and it's up to 13. Have to jump on the value at this number.

One more play today will be Arizona...if/when it gets to + 3. Still at 2.5.

Philly +5 over NyGiants

Philly had the earlier meeting won until a 4th qt collapse. These 2 teams appear even to me so getting 5 a bonus.

Stl +3 over Oakland

Raiders have been favored once this year and they lost that one SU against Houston. I think Rams will have enough O in this one to get the victory.

Under 43.5 Den/Az

Too first year QB's get the starts here. I think Denver will try and run it alot today which should keep the clock rolling. Lookin for a 20-17 game.

Arizona +3, -112 vs. Denver
Looks like a good spot to back a warm Cardinals team against a cold Broncos team. "Must win" of sorts for Denver and I love going against teams with their back against the wall. Leinart is starting to get on a roll and Cutler is not. Whatever he got last week was well after the game was decided. Broncos defense isn't what it used to be and their run game isn't either. In fact, the Broncos might just be who we thought they were.

Chargers and Chiefs over 46.5- Last time these 2 teams played the final score was 30-27. One thing would scare is for the Chargers to cover , because I just don't know how the CHiefs will play after the loss of Lamar Hunt. I could see the Chiefs winning, I don't think they will but the winner will have to score in the high 20's and maybe go in to the 30's.

Colts -3 vs Bengals- I just think if the Colts don't take this one, they have more trouble than they thought and the offense will have to help the defense by scoring.

Colts and Bengals over 54.5- The Bengals defense has played well lately, but now they will go against a top offense and the Colts haven' been stopping anybody lately.

I know its too late but I thought that Rams getting point at Oakland was a sure thing. I won a little with that one.

Take the Colts giving 3 1/2 Monday and go Under.

Over seems a bit high (54 1/2) and Peyton Manning's gotta be really pissed. They are due to break out and Cincy's due to suck.

Colts -3 1/2

Under 54 1/2

My contrarian weekend has been a mixed bag...just as has this entire season. Never a big week and never a bad week. Just plain old 50% plus, but still in the black.

Indy-Cincy UNDER 55
Joe Public is pounding the over and all we've heard about this game is about the offenses. With Indy's defense in rapid retreat last week, one might expect the same thing to happen here. It could, but this is the NFL. Last week is not a predictor of this week. There might be a lot of offense, but 8 TDs and XPs is still 2 tds per quarter. A few stops here and there and i could see that not happening
