Joe B. is just alright with me. I loved Joe's old Sunday night shows.

Agree on Joe B. Mike Espositio is growing on me too. He's not the smoothest guy on the radio, but he's alright with me.

I think I'd enjoy Bartosch more as a late night host than as an Scoreboard guy. His WAY WITH WORDZZZZ on updates is severely overrated.

I wonder if he is taking his Lady Jane's commercials with him.

When he's not doing "Scoreboard Updates" complete with clever, humorous one-liners, Joe Bartosch does a great deal of work behind the scenes at WBBM Newsradio 780. Bartosch's the executive producer of the Chicago Bears Radio Network and does a great deal of writing the news for the CBS Radio-owned news station.

As for Brian Paruch, he has given his customary 2 weeks notice to his 670 The SCORE bosses, even though he's doing updates again today with "Boers & Bernstein". He's expected to sign off WSCR when he & the Trib's Steve Rosenbloom wrap up their Saturday morning show this weekend. Paruch's leaving may pave the way for Mark Grote to sign on as a weekend host under terms of his new contract with the CBS-owned sports talker & White Sox flagship.

What makes anyone think his duties on a morning show will keep him from doing weekend and fill in work at the score? The guy has always worked several jobs.

He probably doesn't have to do that anymore cuz he got decent money with this gig. I think he only did all of the other stuff cuz he had too. Update guy and weekend host at the SCORE isn't much money.

Good for Paruch. I've always liked him. He's educated, well spoken and could express cogent thougts. He was nothing special, but he didn't try to be a Bernstein clone. I admire that he resisted that. His safe, pleasent style got him this gig.

No other station in town wants to hire crude, rude, obnoxious people. The only place in town where you can kind of be a dirtbag and be on the air is at THE SCORE. Hell, you don't even have to have any broadcasting skills to be on THE SCORE. Other stations require that. Mitch doesn't care about that. It's really the only "Fuck you" radio station in this town. So it limits your options. Obviously Paruch realized this and it paid off for him.

How did you come to this conclusion? Bernstein wants statistical evidence of your comment.

I went to Tim Horton's earlier today and it was worth the trip.

Eaglo, the SCORE gives air time to Goff, Drinky, Hampton, Buffone, OB and Boers. That's my evidence.

To emphasise my point, do you think Drinky and Goff were in consideration for the Eric and Kathy side kick job?

Oh. I didn't know that. There's that, plus Kathy would be scared to death of Goff the first time a "Race discussion" came up.

I'm just saying most stations want an educated, well spoken broadaster. Ya know, some one that can communicate. I know it's a novel idea in broadcasting.

I like the fact that Bernstein is a scumbag, educated and a good broadcaster. But he's the exception to the rule at THE SCORE.

Paruch also never engaged in the "crying game" like others at THE SCORE. I never heard him on one of his shows bitch about not getting more air time. Never heard him cry that he wasn't a sub for the B&B show or Danny Mac's or M&H. Not once. I never heard him make snide remarks about others at the station. He never put down others who he thought he was better than. Never bitched about a new Mitch hire. He never tried to sabotage a new Mitch hire. He put up with Goff's bullshit sound bites during his updates with a smile. It always amazed me when they would yell at him to hurry up when Goff is jabbing the sound bite machine. Goff is the reason the updates take forever.

So it's nice to see somebody at THE SCORE get rewarded for not being a bitch-brat-bully. Nice to see somebody just be a pro. Kudos to you, Brian Paruch. I know it's weird to praise him for this, but the SCORE sets the bar so low, when you see someone like Paruch, you're shocked.
