Shit. That's too bad. :(

If the old gang of cringe comics get together to do a tribute show, it'd probably be the funniest few hours ever to occur on Earth.

I had the opportunity to meet greg at several shows over the three or four years I attempted to do stand up comedy. He always had some type of advice for a young comic. Dude loved to throw back some cocktails until he had to quit. He was a very funny guy. I always looked forward to his turn at one of the many roasts he performed at.

I'd have to assume coke (or some coke-like drug ... I'm not the guy to ask much about the drug scene ... the phrase "8-ball" comes to mind, but I wouldn't know what that is if you handed me one).

Hmmmmm...that sucks. :(

Only thing is, I don't think anyone intentionally dies of a drug overdose unless they're commiting suicide.

uppers are horrendous shite. a few weeks back i dabbled for the first time in years and there was no sense of euphoria whatsoever... then i couldn't sleep and i was turned into an honorary european even tho i've been circumsized. complete waste of money/time/sensation/life/etc

poor giraldo, even tho he'd never make it big he seemed to be pretty good at what he does to be included in the circlejerk of never-quite-made-it-comics who had their moments in the sun on the stern show and comedy central roasts and vh1/esque clipshows. i raise the tail end of this a:m for him

I would guess opiate pain killers (Oxycontin, Vicodin) or tranquilizers (Valium or Xanax)

I saw he was hospitalized a few days ago, but whatever I read made it seem he had been found in time and was recovering in the hospital. Apparently not.

Wonder what the culprit was then ... very strange then to croak from prescription drugs unless there was some secondary condition/circumstance not known/reported yet.

Nice writeup over @ Cringe Humor ... based on how it loaded, I have a feeling the site is getting way more traffic than it's used to.

This sucks. I've always enjoyed his appearances on Stern. Howard Stern comedians are not having a good month.

Just because I feel like it and I've been watching episodes on YouTube for over an hour, I would like to politely reintroduce my request to shove cacti up the asses of every bumblefuck executive that decided to cancel Tough Crowd.

Saw the "friend" took him to the hospital the other day. Prolly dropping off the next hit.

Yet Dane Cook lives.

Dane Cook may still be alive, but he's definitely 95% dead inside.

I was shocked to read this in the morning paper. I was looking forward to seeing Greg the next time he came to town. I thought he did a good job on those roasts. I think the IMPROV used him on thier pre-show video asking the crowd to be considerate of the performers. Maybe he was disappointed he wasn't "big time". He was bigger then most who toil for years on local stages. This is too bad.

Little known fact that you might hear about at some point when the media wakes up to the issue: More people (16,000) now die each year in this country of prescription opiate pain killers (especially hydrocodone and oxycodone) than heroin and cocaine and all other illegal drugs combined (13,000).

I actually knew prescription drugs killed more than heroin and cocaine. CNN talked about this a lot after the Michael Jackson death.

Too bad he got help.
