Mike North is making a return to the Chicago airwaves this weekend. WIND-AM has signed on as an affiliate of the FOX Sports Radio network just to carry Mike North's Sunday night NFL wrap-up show. Mike North's FOX Sports show will now air on AM 560 each Sunday night from 9:00pm-Midnight, beginning this Sunday, October 3rd.

Mike North also announced on his website yesterday that the "Monsters" are reuniting for one day only on FOX Sports Radio. This Friday, October 1st from 2:00pm-6:00pm, Mike North & Dan Jiggetts will be filling in for the "Loose Cannons" show on FSR. Since the "Loose Cannons" show just premiered a few weeks ago and the show has three hosts, it seems very unlikely that all three would be taking off on the same day. The "Monsters" fill-in show is a tryout for a possible future FSR show. North says on his blog that "there is a chance caning may be back for the first time in years. Or Jag Bag Friday or maybe both."

I absolutely predicted this occuring.

I will probably listen as the score has sunday night football and the crazy guillen brothers semi spanish language hour during that time.

If North plays it right he could become the next Doug and OB for Bears post game. WIND would be smart to have him on locally for 1-2 hours before his national 9-midnight shift. All other post game has finished by then but there are still plenty of people wanting to bear down.

His Sunday night show is from 9-12, right? Sunday night football doesn't end until 10:45 or later. After that the country goes to sportscenter, NFL network or their local sports TV shows. What sports fan is listening to a national Sunday night sports show during football season? Nobody.

They can spin this anyway they want, bottom line, its WIND. Its not about working, its about money with North and he still is holding out that this is going to parlay into another huge contract, which it wont. He can take all the bottom feeding jobs he wants, he walked out on a sweet gig and hasn't had anything close to that gig since.

I hope he works till the day he decides its time to retire, but like I said, based on what he wants to do and how he wants to do it, he better get use to the 10k watt radio deals and fill-in gigs, because that's all he will get. The bottom line is that he has failed at everything since walking out on the Score, that is a fact. I take no joy in it, but since he seems to think the public is stupid and we just are going to believe him when he says monsters in the morning, webio, monsters and money and dontfademe.com were all money makers, well, no and he should be called out on it.

I have said it 1000 times, if he would let someone handle his shows and have limited input, he could land a gig, but from everything I hear, he still insists on total creative control, so based on his track record, future isn't bright.

I agree...but for God sakes, everyone needs to work. Don't begrudge the guy for earning a few paychecks from Fox & WIND. What is he supposed to do, turn down every offer?

I agree. Listening to meatballs on a Sunday night has some appeal. The Score certainly offers nothing on Sunday nights. Good move by WIND which would never attract any sports listeners. As for North, he'll never regain his former level of compensation and fucked up big time, but at least the guy is trying to resurrect his career. Can't blame a guy for trying.

He will not be anything remotely close to a good listen after the games on Sunday night. All he is going to do is boast about any of his picks from either day that were right. Its not going to be bears post game commentary. He is no longer capable of a coherent on topic point in case you haven't heard him in the last 5 years.

I'm not, it's not about who he works for, its always about the aftermath of him being let go, never his fault. I think its safe to assume we have all made mistakes, he doesn't admit to it, he blames others, that is truly what annoys me about North, its never his fault even though he is the one calling the shots.

Agreed. Also,he always tries to make it sound like the job he has now is a step up. This FOX job reminds me of a movie that's out now:
