SportsFreak has eaten enough ass in his day for that quip to be relevant.

The mother of a sports anchor gets a 5 page thread. Any other normal Jane Q. Public from Orland gets shot and if its even posted here at all, its a 5-6 reply thread.

Can we comment on this yet, or are we banned from having opinions?

This guy's story is almost as good as Henry Burris's explanation to his wife and the media why he was seen in a bra with another young lady.

...and what happened to the SHOTGUN that was first reported?

It's big news. I saw a Twitter feed from some douchegbag that said, "My prayers go out to Sarah Kustok. She the hottest sports reporter out there!" And he hash-tagged it "R.I.P."

pizza_Place: I vehemently disagree
The Kustoks' children, Zak and Sarah, did not speak to reporters after the hearing, but attorney Peter Rush, who is representing the family but not the defendant, said, "The Kustok children know their father couldn't have committed the act the state is accusing him of." Rush said the family asked for privacy. "Remember, they are children and their life has been torn apart," Rush said. Zak stood with his arm around Sarah, who turned to him and whispered, "I love you."

I echo what walkrman said... if this is true about their father, they lost more than just a Mom. Make me sick. I see Zak at games all the time. He'll stop and talk to anyone who asks. The guy is a class act.

for some reason this reminds me of this "deadliest women" edition i was watching on ID, where this black widow killed 2 husbands the same way...pretending that a gun accidentally went off.

i know this is different as it's considered a suicide and not an accident; but it strikes me as a falsity. and how would her arms be crossed? if you shoot yourself in the head, wouldn't your arms dangle at your sides?

Well, it's obvious his initial version as reported to the police of the events in no way reflect what actually happened - you wouldn't even do that in a movie; I don't think anyone's dumb enough to say otherwise.

Apparently Bern-Stein posited could there be concussive-related damage to his brain that may have helped drive him insane enough to do whatever it is he may have done. I didn't hear it, I just saw somebody said he brought it up for whatever reason. It seems, on its face, to be a long shot - but, then again, aside from one board member, who in the hell knows anything about the goings on of the Kustoks to make a knowledgeable comparison?

Whatever way you look at it, it's damnably depressing just to read about it, let alone to even momentarily ponder having to live through it first-person.

Bernstein brought it up as a long shot defense and compared it to the Twinkie defense Dan White used in the Harvey Milk murder trial. His larger point was that someday some lawyer will use the concussion defense in the case of a former football player killing someone. Apparently, according to Bernstein (take with grain of salt), it is impossible to prove this disease exists unless you disect the brain, so no prosecutor could prove that any potential defendant did not have these injuries, therefore creating reasonable doubt.

I dont know anything really about the family at all. My father in law always spoke highly of the whole family whenever we would see Sarah on TV. My father in law was a coach for the Sandburg mens basketball team that Zak played on while in highschool. I havent called or asked about it, because its just not something I need to know or have a desire to ask about. My wife joked today that her brother was always worried that their dad was going to trade him in for Zak because he liked him that much.

The Southtown called him for quotes on the story and you can see those online. Sad story overall really.

Glad to see that that Boers and Bernstein show couldnt be bothered to show any class either. I heard Terry's ass laughing and thinking it was the funniest thing in the world. Classless guy. I hope for all the shit he has laughed at people about and the things he has said about people when they are down come back on him. You just dont walk around saying shit about people and treating everyone like your better than them.

For the part that I listened to, they treated the actual death fairly seriously. I don't think Terry was laughing at that as much as he was at Bernstein's crazy ass theories.

Agreed. I had issues with Bernstein tossing this into his concussion thing, but I really don't think they were laughing about this at all. I would have no problem calling it if they did, because it would have really pissed me off.

Before I clear anything altogether, I would probably want to listen again. Frankly, I would have to hang the "I'm Not Interested" sign on that idea.

Quite poignant if they were in fact laughing about this tragedy which would be typical B&B.

Your comments were far more offensive compared to anything said on the show today. This is from someone that was acting as the humor and taste police in this very thread.

I'm by far not a regular poster.... I'm not nearly as creative as most of you.... so normally my entertainment comes from reading the class clowns take control of this board and humor me with a chuckle every now and then. Call me a weasel for not posting and just living off the fat of the land.... I deserve that.

But to crack an off color joke with one of "our own" is just plain immature and definitely a stretch for someone with out creativity and just trying to hit the funny bone of those of us who appreciate a little dark humor. I love an off color joke at an in opportune time more than most of you... but I'd like to think that I've learned to pick my spots and appreciate a "close to home" tragedy at the ripe old age of 31.

Frank, ignore my run on sentences and my over use of the period to realize you are nothing but a shit stick, and to realize that just because it's "taboo" and a bit "too soon" and quite a bit "off color" doesn't mean it's a shoe in laugh.

Grow up and don't contribute to out surrounding human condition of irresponsibility and incontinence.

Nothing but prayers and and good hope go out to the Kustok's and their loved ones

Look chucklefucks .....

Some people say things that others find outrageous at times when both groups are faced with a piece of news that goes beyond the normal ability to cope with - irrelevant is what that news is, who it actually affects, etc., .... the point is different people deal with such times in different ways. No way is right. No way is wrong.

The only thing I find particularly galling are those who think they're some sort of goddam paladin who are begotten with some almighty sense of what's appropriate and feel it's their God-given duty to not only cry foul on others, but do so in a far more overbearing way than anything the so-called offender uttered.

It's one thing to say you don't like what Frank said. It's another to get on some soapbox like some little bitch who is WAY more interested in showing how morally centered they are rather than express their own difficulty with what Frank said and politely inquire if he might cease such comments.

It's a real motherfucker what happened to every Kustok a couple days ago. But get this through your fucking skulls: nothing Frank says, I say, or you say means one goddam thing. It doesn't change what happened, it doesn't change what will happen. Frank's words are as irrelevant as those going up his ass like he stole from you.

The mom's dead, the old man clearly shot her, and the kids (let alone the close friends and extended family) have to deal with this the rest of their lives - none of that changes because Frank makes a joke or we have a board-wide prayer circle. What's done is done; they're the ones that have to clean up the mess - physically and psychologically - not any of us.

If you really have a true problem with what Frank said, then be an adult and address it to him in an adult fashion.

If you are just the bitchy soapbox stander type, shut your fucking hole ... Sara and Zak don't need your petty grandstanding, you self-serving, narcissistic prick.

I have never met a Kustok, this side of Poland or the other... But what is wrong or self serving (especially for a non-poster) to suggest to look inward before making a flippant remark or retort?

I love off color jokes and remarks if not more as the next guy. But as a community, for once, it would be nice to see "US" unite and support each other with a comment that let's them know "as a victim" that maybe in our silent moments that we may send an absent minded prayer if there is a God to help someone like them, especially the Kustok's, in this crazy shit fuck of a time.

I'm just a dude that every once in awhile gets sick of the bull shit and sarcasm from faceless douchebags that get to say and "post" whatever that comes across their stupid face.

First and foremost, it's not your fucking place or job. Besides, who the hell asked you anyway?

Fine, here's one you can tell the family: A man walks into a doctor's office, says "doc I don't know if my wife has TB or VD"; the doc says "go home and chase her around the bed; if she coughs, fuck her".

Again, you and your ilk need to learn to just take care of your own shitpile and leave other people's alone.
